Most of you know I work at the court house in Santa Ana (Southern California for our out of state friends!). An immigration demonstration started down the street and are now in front of the courthouse, causing the police to close and secure the front completely. The building has a side, and rear exit we can use, and so far, it's "business as usual".

Cops from all over have come to help. They established a "parimiter" around the courthouse - in full riot gear, and the sheriff deputies are running around all over the courthouse. From what I heard, the demonstrators are circling the building, and the nearby streets are closed off (of course.)

On a lighter note, I've lost another 2 lbs. on weight watchers!

Grats on the 2 pounds and don't get me started on the screwed up immigration system in California.

Actually my daughter just called from downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan and we have the same thing going on. She said there were people all over the street and she couldn't get to her class. So I guess this isn't only happening out where you are. She said it was kind of scary being in the middle of it. It didn't help that two cars next to her slammed into each other trying to avoid the crowd.

Way to go on the WW Patrick!

I feel your pain on the immigration protests. Living in Washington we get lot's of marches and rallys that tend to throw a monkey wrench in the gears so far as daily life for us locals. Between the protests and rallies, motorcades, tourist seasons and security alerts it can make daily life pretty damn stressful. Good news is that it looks like the bill will get through the full Senate and the protestors should go home soon. For those of us stupid enough to continue to live in the nations capitol we have a whole summer worth of gridlock hell to live through.
