BUT on the sheet the nutritionist gave me, applesauce was in the 3-4 week category. I have just had water and protein drink the last week and have been really...weak. Like, sitting down to brush my teeth weak. Can you guys remember if you had pudding, applesauce, or something else with a little more calories and how it went? Oh, today I got onto my bed normally. I was really excited, and am now sitting semi-indian legged! yay! (sorry, random) Thanks!
We were also allowed pudding, applesauce, and yogurt (low enough sugar and without fruit pieces) right after surgery.

I ate applesauce since day 1 - it didn't sit very well, but I think it had a lot to do with the oral sprinkles of medication I had to add to it. Talk about gag me!

My dietitian let me add cottage cheese in week 2. I'm sorry you can't eat it.

Like Katee, I could have LF Cottage Cheese since week 2. I actually found that cottage cheese sat better than anything else I ate...it still does...and I'm now 4 weeks.

I ate puree'd cottage cheese in the hospital as well as puree'd scrambled eggs without any problems. I have yet to do fruits as there is no protein in them and everything that I put in my mouth has to have protein in it to get that 60-70 grams. UGH! It's no tedious at times.

Interesting about the cottage cheese thing in week 2, my surgeon listed it under the 3-4 week food category. I'm in my second week...hmm....it seems like if you chew it up well enough, it could be more liquidy than applesauce. Something to ponder!

You can eat most anything at that stage if you puree it. I used to do canned chicken with a little bit of cottage cheese and some dry taco seasoning. Puree it. Tons of protein and if you eat slow, you can get quite a bit of it in no problems.
