Talking Kayaking experience

Hi Everyone,
I took 2 kayaking lessons this past weekend. Even at an average weight, I felt a bit tight inside the kayak. I could NEVER have fit in it when I was heavy. I was excited and scared on this new adventure, especially when I had to roll out of the kayak under water and get out of it...YICKS! Imagine me, a life time of morbid obesity, now in a thinner body paddling in a kayak. It almost brings tears of joy to my eyes. I'm still floored when I can "pass for normal" in life. I don't stick out as "the fat one".
I am quite SORE this morning. This little bit of fun exercise this past weekend gives me incentive to get in better physical conditioning. I realize that I don't have much upper body strength or flexibility. Now, if only I could find others who also enjoy the sport. We'll see how my lessons next weekend go. I'M PROUD OF MYSELF FOR TAKING THE RISK TO TRY SOMETHING NEW AND A BIT SCAREY FOR ME. It was nice having only 3 of us in the class with 2 instructors so I feel so blessed to have had these almost private lessons. I had hoped that someone from thinnertimes could have joined me. Oh well....maybe on another of my adventures. I might take the sailing class next time.
I live in gorgeous San Diego and have not made use of living near in ocean & bay. This summer WILL BE DIFFERENT!

Suzanne, This Sound Like So Much Fun. I Am Probably Too Big Still But I Will Consider This As An Adventure Dow The Line Whn I Get A Little Smaller. I Am Size 16 Now. It Does Sound Scary But I Like To Take Some Risks And Being Fat Kept Me From Doing Many Things And "safe" All The Time. I Am Doing Some Weight Stuff At Home To Strengthen My Arms. My Main Exercise Has Been Walk/running So Legs A Pretty Strong.
