OT - Hurricane Jeanne
I just got a call from my son, Jeffrey, he's in the eye of the hurricane!
He left home last night and stayed with a friend and his family, right now they all were evacuated to the high school's auditorium which is just around the corner from Jeffrey's house. They have no power at this time. He said that at home, there were only a few roof tiles down, more planks are down of his fence, and the neighbors screened porch is in Jeffrey's front yard along with a tree down from his front yard.... that all is from the front half of the storm.... they have to wait now for the second half to come through as the eye passes over...
Please remember him and the rest of central Florida as Jeanne wreaks havoc on this state who have already been through so much....
My nerves are just about shot having worried about him for the past 6 weeks, this being the 4th hurricane during this time period.... this is the first time in a century that this many hurricanes have hit Florida in this about of time.....
I told him he needed to get out of there!!! He said, "naw Mom, I'm fine, you couldn't call me hurricane boy if I got outta here!"
Thanks everybody for thoughts and prayers~

Sandi - My thoughts and prayers are with Jeffrey and the rest of those caught in this hurricane. Keep your faith and know that he will be fine. Sounds like he's got his mom's sense of humor. God bless you all.

More prayers!
Gosh, Sandi - yet another hurricane is just too much! I've been keeping Jeffrey (and you and John) in my prayers, and will continue 'til you say "enough already!"
Try to think peaceful thoughts........

Sandi
Oh dear, I've been watching the weather channel. It's like a weekly thing anymore in Florida. We got alot of rain from Ivan last week. It looks like Jeanne will dump on us also. I'm right on the Appalachian's in Virginia, so the leftover hurricanes like to stall and drench us. Your son is in my prayers, Sandi, and so are you so God can help comfort you. I know you're worried sick.

Darn those hurricanes!
I wish they would pick on someone their own size. Best wishes and hopes that everything will be okay, and when all is said and done, I hope he only has to hammer a couple of boards back onto his fence..... best wishes!

Update on Jeffrey and Hurricane Jeanne!!!!
I just talked to Jeffrey and he got power back last night at MIDNIGHT!!!!!
He said that he'd opened the windows and even up till that time they were still having 50 mph winds and it felt good to have that wind blowing through the house while trying to sleep with no air conditioning, remember, it's still September and one of the hottest months in Florida.
Something woke him up, and he could see light coming from the front of the house and his alarm clock was flashing, so he FLEW to the kitchen and the freezer, where he had stored his mayonnaise, his milk, his jelly, his 3 gallons of water, all to keep them cool during the only ONE day without power!!! LOL He didn't want to have all those things frozen when he woke up this morning So, all in all, things are okay.... He'll have a brand new fence thanks to Hurricane Charley, Frances and Jeanne, a new roof thanks to all three also, he JUST replaced this one 2 years ago when his dad died, a new screened porch, thanks to Hurricane Charley, and new carpet due to Hurricane Frances, I told him this morning he could thank the Lord and Mother Nature, he's going to have a new home!!!! Thank you Jesus~
Thank you for taking care of my son Lord......
Thank you everyone for your kind words, thank you all for your prayers, and Phil, you can never pray too much my friend, you just keep us on your list, we'll take all the prayers we can get, with the way our luck has been running the last 6 weeks, you just never know!
