I found this interesting
I saw this link on one of the 9 trillion pages I was reading about bariatric surgery and I'm seriously thinking about getting one. http://laurenshope.com
It's a link to these really beautiful medic ID bracelets (made out of crystals, different stones...some even have watches). I'm going to talk to the doctor about it, but I think it might be one of those better safe than sorry situations if I were unconscious for some reason and a strange dr. didn't have my medical background.
That, reason and the fact that the bracelets look pretty cool!
(I have a jewelry fetish in addition to my list fetish) !

Me too!
I ordered one from a different company for the same reasons. I don't want to be injured and unconscious and not have them know my insides have been replumbed.

Yeah Lisa those are really beautiful. I posted about those bracelets awhile back but now on Bariatriceating they have then with the med alert bracelets attached. I think there are even pictures of the bracelets here. I think it is a wonderful idea. I hope you will share with us your new bracelet if you get one.

What exactly do people write on the medical alert beside that they have had gastric by pass? I have heard people say that they put on there "no NG tubes" or "no NSAIDS". Can anyone tell me what they wrote on theirs?
Thanks

Reading this has gotten me nervous. What is blind scoping? I didn't realize that having a gastric bypass would interfere with other medical procedures...

Dr Callery doesnt endorse them. The likelihood of anyone needing a blind tubing is HUGELY rare. Also NSAIDS if given intravenously dont hurt you, if your unconcious your not going to get them orally.... just a thought, by Dr Callery, Dr Potts and Kelly believe they are a waste of money. But kudos to you who want em "just in case." I hope "the case" never arises!
