Unhappy Help Me...Help Me...Help Me!!!

I am sooooo discouraged. I am six weeks post op and have only lost 30lbs. I know that's great and everything but, I haven't lost ANYTHING in over a week! Is this normal? has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on how to jump start my weight loss again?

Hey hey hey...

Cool down...all is ok.... sometimes the body takes a lill pause in the weightloss and with the speed you have had sofar the body probably screams for a pause.

So...continue on your program and hide your scale for a while. Next time you will see a new figure on the scale.

hugs
Lovisa

April,
Lovisa is right! We all go through this, and it's normal. I was stuck for almost 5 weeks! I finally went down again after I started exercising regularly. (Funny how that works!) I hope you've been doing your measurements regularly. When the scale doesn't move, your inches still do.

Actually, no I haven't taken my measurements lately. I may be expecting too much from my body to quickly. I have just started a cardio routine so maybe that will help!

Default Yes, it's normal

I not only didn't lose for a few weeks, I actually gained a couple pounds while I was in that stage. I came on the forum and freaked out... and got the same message you're getting. Take your measurements, watch yourself shrink while the poundage stays the same...

You will hit plateaus regularly. Frustrating, but it's part of weight loss. Try to stay off the scales... maybe once a month only. As hard as it is, it really will help if you stay off them.

Try doing a search on "plateau" on this site... you will see that we all had to deal with it! No fun at all!

April, you are doing good. I had the same worry. Well its obvious all bodies are different. Ive lost 45lb in 12 weeks. I hit plateau every two weeks. My body decides my weight loss pace, not me. STAY OFF THE SCALE! Keep on taking your vit. and proteins and you will soon see you will lose weight. Good luck.

I agree, the measuements are important. Maybe try and only weigh every 2 weeks. Focus on good nutrition and don't worry too much about the numbers on the scale

I agree wholeheartedly with Traci - avoid the scales as much as possible... at least initially. You'll only make yourself crazy, IMO.

I only weigh myself every 2 - 3 weeks...
