Default Bridget, plateau, my 6 month

Hey everyone, wanted to give an update on my 6 month check and was very surprised to here that Bridget is "done." Is that what Kelly told you? I am 7 months out and Kelly seemed sure I was going to lose another 15 pounds or more and honestly, everyone tells me not to lose another ounce???? What is up w/that? I stopped losing weight for about a month between the beginning of Aug to Sept and just lost like 13 pounds...was stuck at 178 and now am 165 w/my period. All in about 4 weeks. I'm a size 9/10 at 5 foot 8 and am really pleased, but I don't know how Kelly can make that call because we are all so different. Let me know what she said. Also let me add that the "75%" of your excess weight usually comes off. The reason it isn't 100% is because they use national health insurance guidlines for our height and weight and those tend to be rather low. Also, Callery or someone fudged on my height...they have me at 5 foot 6 which is ridiculous, but they also have my goal at 140...if I lost 25 more pounds people would stop me in the street and offer me food!!! I'd look like my daughter's grandma not her mommy...should I go on??!! Anyway, my checkup was good, great actually. All blood levels perfect...yea!!! I don't have to take iron. And Kelly said my bp was too low. She got a reading of 112/70 and I took it at Longs about 10 days ago and got a reading of 93/70....way low. So I called my pcp and he said to stop the meds!!!! Cool, because they cost $89 a month. I don't have much of an appetite lately, sometimes food even grosses me out...just looking at it much less eating it. I had to force feed yesterday, and I'm not doing much better today. Just feeling yuck...low bp, period (sorry boys!!). But I am keeping up w/liquids. Anyone know if they make sugar free gatorade?? I've got to go see. Anyway, so insurance is paying for the plastic surgery??? I need a tummy tuck at the minimum and would like the legs done, but the price is probably scary. Just got a job yesterday at the Sweetwater Union School district............yipppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeee!!! Love to all.

Thumbs up

Hey Congratulations on the blood work and being able to stop taking meds that cost a small fortune every month!

Congratulations on the new job too!

Smile Alright Jean

Yeah Kelly said I was pretty much done at my 6 month visit (had it whaen I was 7 months actually). She said it was because of the way my collar and shoulder bones are protuding, and then Dr Callery concurred at the early post op group in front of everybody (can I get a withness?) He felt the same way... that I was pretty much done. i thought that I still had a bunch of fat hanging around, and I was told and told again, because I refused to believe it, that it was NOT fat it in fact is SKIN! Ewwwwww You never know how fat you really were until you lose it... let me tell you.
You know I was looking at those National guidelines for weight the other day and they most do the letter under the impression of small frame... girl Im 5'11" and they said my post op goal weight would be 141! There is no friggin' way! My personal goal, is 175 and with that my BMI says I will be in a normal weight range.... so I only have 12 more pounds to go..... I hope to lose that before plastic surgery starts... I know I can, if I work at it... so losing more is my choice, but I'm okay with the fact that it's going to be work now... to lose and to keep it off. So, like I said Im 5'11" and my weight at the OBGYN, (while on my cycle too) was 186..... I like the way it looks, well actually if the skin ws gone I would. I have LOTS of it.... I mean lots.... it's at the point where I am very uncomfortable when I sit and stuff like that... it's rolling up everywhere and just uncomfortable...... anywho the plastic surgeon is submitting for auth to the insurance carrier... I hear he has great success with getting something authorized... we'll see how it works..... and you guys will be the next to know....
Good to hear from you Jean... miss ya lady!

Exclamation To all you nasayers...

I heard Dr. C say directly to Bridget that she was pretty much done with losing weight. If you'll check the Wednesday posts after that first Tuesday support group meeting, you'll see a post from me asking Bridget if she was okay with that.

Bridget, keep on keepin on girl. You'll get to your goal before you know it.

Well...I am in your corner, Bridge. Hopefully your approval will come through with this.

I can say this though...I sure hope I am not done!! <LOL> I will be 6 months out on Oct. 13th. I have about 45 more pounds to go until I reach my personal goal.

Jean...I wish I could see you again soon. I bet I would not even recognize you, girl!! Congrats on your new job. Take care!
