Peanut butter has been one of my staples. Get a low/no sugar one. You can try some s/f jelly with it. I love the stuff! They have several brands on the market and they are all pretty good. You can't go wrong with strawberry! Instead of crackers, try eat it with Soy Crisps for extra protein. They are really yummy, low cal, and high protein.

Hey Will......glad to finally see a face! I'd approach the PB with a little caution. I decided to do it once a few weeks post-op. I was having trouble with protein and not much sounded good, etc. I decided I'd slowly lick a Tbs.....it turned into 3 or 4 and I had a very unpleasant session of heaving up some lovely foam. Apparently, it was too high in fat or something. If you want PB I would blend it into like SF ice cream or yogurt or vanilla pudding or something and limit it. Good luck. Ny favorite thing early on was egg drop soup.

Amber, can I buy soy crisps in the regular grocery store? I have never seen or heard of them. Thanks for the tip.

I get 'em at Krogers or Wal-mart and the local health food store. They have sea salt (my fav), BBQ, roasted onion and garlic, and ranch. These are the Gen Soy brand. You can order 'em on line too.

Peanut butter and chicken cup o soup were my staple foods for a couple of months. For some reason my pouch tolerates it well. I have eaten it with apples and crackers. I get saltines, there is a reason why they suggest it to morning sickness moms--they help with the nausea A LOT.

Thanks, I am having a bit of trouble trying to figure out what is good and what is not. Sometimes I can eat boiled eggs and sometimes I can not. Lately I just do not want to eat anything including the shakes. So I am trying to see what are someother options to go by.

I hate it on toast after 4 weeks and it got stuck. However, I occasionally have it on crackers now, and it's nice.

I eat PB on celery. I have my 7 year old and hubby now hooked. Just this weekend, my hubby said, "looks like we're all going to be fighting for the PB and celery." Who would have thunk my 7 year old liking PB and celery. I got a stalk and the PB jar and took it into the living room, sat down on the sofa and started eating it. She turned around and said, "I want a bite." Next thing I knew she ran into the kitchen and got her self a stalk and we fought over the PB :-)

Nutritionist said no...
"It's called peanut BUTTER," she says.
I am not allowed to have any bread or cracker stuff for a looong time, but the soy crisps are alright. They taste like a rice cake to me and I like them with hummus or guacamole.
Try some FF refried beans, shredded cheese and lf sour cream. It's good and doesn't require a bread to go with it.
