Default Stall at 2 weeks??

Ok, I came out of the gate like gangbusters...25 pounds in 2 weeks and then wham..stop sign. I have not lost a thing in a week. I am trying to get in all of my fluids and doing the best I can with protein (about 50 g a day). I know it will pass (I hope). It is just so discouraging to be stalled so early on. You need that rapid weight loss mentally at this point to carry you through the early struggles. I had a goal of 40-45 pounds at 6 weeks for my sisters wedding. I don't think I will get there

SHUTUP! You are totally going to make it past this little hiccup. Are you working out yet? I'm not talking about power lifting or anything but tread mill, eliptical, stairclimber, or swimming?

PS I didn't mean SHUTUP in a mean way....more like when my niece says it.

It's not a stall, you just have to let your body catch up to the weight loss and then it will kick in again.

Dyann I know it can be fustrating but the worse thing you can do is put that kind of pressure of yourself. Be greatful for the weight you have lost thus far. When you least expect it the weight will start to fall off again. Is 50 grams of protein what your surgeon recommended you get in each day? Don't worry I think you will get close to your goal of losing 40-45 pounds before your sisters wedding.

I am supposed to get more like 50-60 g in. I have started to add unflavored unjury to everything I can. Right now I am trying to get in my fluid requirements as priority #1 then protein. They should really both be #1. I eat salmon almost everyday to the point I am ready to swim upstream to spawn. Just needed to vent

The first two weeks I lost I lost 23 lbs. The third weeks I lost 6 lbs. I didn't lose anything for another week. Now I have started losing again. I know how you feel. With everything you've gone through you want to see really good loses. I just figured that my body is adjusting and it will take some time. I have not started working out so I know that will help. Just keep going at it and the weight will come off.

Your body is playing the catch-up game - don't worry...you will loose again, and will make your goal (maybe even surpass it) for your sisters wedding

Default That is amazing!

You have lost so much weight! Your poor body must be totally in shock! You are shifting and changing and "you look mavalus". You'll certainly weigh less at the wedding than if you hadn't had the surgery! And really, is anyone going to walk up to you at the wedding and say, "Gee Diane, weren't you going to lose more weight by this point?"

Now repeat after me, " I just lost 25 pounds in three weeks, that I will never gain back. I am amazingly successful. I am doing a great job!" Now kiss yourself and relax! Remember the big picture! You are going to lose so much weight, feel so much better and live so much longer! Don't rain on your own parade!! 25 pounds is truly amazing so forget your previous goals for this wedding, it isn't part of the big picture, just a blip. And like Whitney said, it might happen anyway - but who cares!! You are doing GREAT!

(Standing ovation - the crowd goes wild - whistles - waves big foam #1 fingers etc.)

We're all here to cheer you on!

It's frustrating! I know! Hang in there and it'll come off. We all thought our stalls would mean we are failing somehow. Nothing makes it better though... just try to stay off those scales!
