Default It finally happened

I was sitting down to eat my scrambled egg in a hurry when I took my first bite ....it was too big and I didn't chew and bammmmmm....What a pain in my abd/chest area. I was afraid to drink to wash it down. It came back up and the pain was over. That was my first vomit since the surgery and it scared me. I hope to never have that happen again.

Welcome Dyann to the wonderful world of wls! Sorry you had to go through this, but I bet there are very few of us here who haven't done this on more than one occasion. It gets easier with time. It becomes second nature to chew the hell out of everything and go very slowly. i don't even have to think about it anymore. I know I have said it a million times but wls is a learning process. It takes time but the rewards are awesome.

oh, yucky...sorry it had to happen to you. It is awful when it is just sitting there. If you feel like that and take a drink, I think it is worse, so good thing you didn't do that. My sister had surgery and vomited a lot in the beginning. She told me it just rolled right out. Sorry for the graphic details, but when I vomit now, it is frothy and like nothing.

Hopefully, it won't happen again to you.

I have found having the food exit the way it came in is a very reasonable way to deal with food that is problematic. If you expect to never vomit and find vomiting upsetting you are setting yourself up for angst and disappointment. My advice is to relax, not set up false expectations, and take things as they come.

Awww poor Dyann! That was the first thing I threw up too. Even now, I sometimes forget to chew all the way. The pouch reminds me - very quickly.

I guess it is a right of passage. I did lose 25 in the first 2 weeks, but I hit a stall at 2 weeks and have lost only 1/2 a pound in the last 3 days. I need to get off of the scale and maybe eat less salty food. Thanks for the support.

Dyann we all learn from our mistakes during this journey. It sucks to go through but now you know what it feels like to cosume to much at once, you will never do it again. I am glad you were able to get it back up. That is such a very uncomfortable feeling. Having this surgery is such an experience, you will dicover a lot about your new pouch as time goes on.
