I have to say I feel like I really know a lot of you on this board from your posts and experiences, what a wonderful group of people you are!!!

Sadly, I met with the nurse and dietition today. See, since I qualified with my Dr. on Tues. it has been HELL at our house. My husbands family FREAKED and is pressuring him to tell me no. He is torn between his own reservations, me and his family now. I kept the appt. only to learn that I had lost 9 lbs. and my BMI dropped to 38.2. Beings I don't have Type 2, hypertension, or sleep apnea...I am will not qualify with insurance.

The staff there was wonderful and felt horrible that someone as motivated and such an excellent candidate...their words, not mine...would get looped out by insurance. The nurse even 'suggested' without actually 'suggesting' that I gain the 10-15 #'s to be at a 40 BMI.

It was kind of her, but I said that I didn't come into this looking for a way to do things WRONG...or to cheat....I just wanted that one tool that would actually prove the one that worked.

So, I am officially NO longer a candidate for the Program..and my journey is done.

I want to thank you all so much for your advice, answers and understanding in these last few weeks. I was really beginning to feel like part of this wonderful family.

You will all be in my prayers as you continue on your own Journeys!!

Thank again so much....I will never forget the kindess and strength I found with this big bunch of Loosers and Loosers to be!!!

You don't have to leave us. I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. Maybe if you can educate your husband's family about the surgery, etc, it would help. Please take care of yourself, and stay in touch!

Weightloss is weightloss regardless of how you get there. You still need support from people who understand you. Stay in touch.

Laura you have to give us a better reason then that to leave us. You are here giving support and learning from others. I would hate to see you part on these terms. There isn't a certain criteria you need to have in order to stay or leave. I do believe there are other members who aren't GB patients but are supporters for the fight against MO. I hope you change your mind and stay, if not I wish you continued sucess. Big hugs.

Laura - I was where you are...unfortunately, or fortunately, I gained just enough to pass the 40 BMI requirement for insurance. My hubby is still not sure, but we are going for the consult tomorrow and hopefully, that will convince him.

Even if you are no longer contemplating the surgery, please keep in touch so that we know how you are. Blessings to you.

Not So Fast, Laura!

Hey, don't let this get you down and make you want to leave. Heck, I've been here for months and STILL not much closer than I was when I found these wonderful people. I'm still not sure if the insurance will even approve me, but I will give them one hell of a fight, and you should too!

You are a wonderful person and an asset to this community. Hang around, let us grow on you!
