Jonz'n for Southern California
I noticed that most of the posts here on the forum are from Southern California. Oh, how I miss that area! We lived in Coronado for 13 years, and have been in Virginia for almost 6. I just keep telling myself that I'll get back there to live forever at some point. Husband is in the military, and we'll likely retire here in the next year or two, because the job market is much better here. But I sure do miss the weather, the beach, the FOOD -- real Mexican, Round Table Pizza -- everything about San Diego and surrounding areas. You all are so darn lucky. Count your blessings!!!

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Wahoo, what a ride."

It's All Perspective
Yep, it's a tough life out here fer sure. But, hey, somebody's gotta do it, right? LOL
Yeah, well, there's a big difference between sitting in our living rooms in San Diego where we can spit in our neighbor's window, and living in a mansion surrounded by acres of land in Virginia...all for the same price!
It's all about what means most to you.

Yea, just try exercising when it's 23 degrees!!! Brrrrrrrrr! I'll take the beach and the weather ANY DAY over a big house! Now, if I can just talk my husband into moving a little faster......
I think it's about making the best of what you have, no matter where you are. At least in San Diego there is the outward appearance of trying to stay healthy. Here, it's cigarettes and unhealthy lifestyles wherever you go. Very easy to get into a food-eating rut that's hard to break out of. I'll bet the surgeries are much more prevalent on the west coast, where people seem much more health-conscious than they do here.
