Most people here are working on farms or in factory jobs!
Very interesting to see the differences in states!

Thanks for the clarification - yes it is indeed interesting to see how things are different in differnt states. Thanks for sharing your side of the world with ours!

Ok-A pole shed is a stick frame building with steel siding. I guess I never realized that "pole shed" was a weird word till now.
|
Well, thank God for that explanation! I was worried about what kind of poles were so wonderful that you had to build sheds for them! LMAO
One other observation...why would you build a shed with steel siding in a place where the weather gets way below zero so often?!?! OUCH! Just wonderin'...

Hmmm Now Dara I don't have an answer for the steel siding. But that sure is interesting. I am going to have to ask my cousin who builds pole buildings for a living, I am sure he has an answer for that.
As soon as I find out, I will get back to you on that topic..HEHEHE
You crack me up Dara!

Ok, I'm gonna guess here since I know what they are, but have never owned one..........
I think one purpose is to secure items without the expense of a "real" garage.......kinda like a trailer for stuff. Another purpose is to keep from having to clear snow off something.......again, a cheaper alternative to a garage.

I was born a cheddarhead and lived there until I was 5. Have been back several times to visit. Too funny! And yes I say Mi Waw Kee and Bubbler.
Thanks for the laughs.

I love Jeff Foxworthy, he busts me up. I have been there and I can pronounce the names of those cities.
His 12 days of Redneck Christmas kills me too.

I have never eaten venison...nor do I intend to. I know there must be fabulous people in Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio. However, it sounds like the only sane ones are on this forum! Thanks, but I'll stick with my sunny, beautiful San Diego.
By the way, what the hell is a pole shed?!? You actually build sheds around your poles?!?!!
|
Dara I believe pole sheds are little wooden buildings that you place on the ice and fish through a small opening in the ice with a fising pole. The shed is to help keep you warm.
Also I have lived in Oklahoma, Virginia and Ohio. I definately prefer San Diego.

Actually what you are referring to is a Ice shanty or Ice shack! Not a pole shed. A pole shed is a building!
