Unhappy Poor Baby

Sandi:

I sure hope John recovers well and heals quickly. Finger injuries are awful...pain like a toothache! On the upside (if there is one), you get to repay your wonderful husband for helping you through your surgery.

Take wonderful care of each other. My good thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thumbs up OT - Update on John

First of all........ I want to thank EVERYBODY who posted a note to us wishing him well and sending their prayers our way!!! You know they mean so much to us, we rely on them!!!!
We saw our PCP yesterday morning and he wouldn't even touch the bandage! He said he didn't want to disturb the work that the doctor had done on Sunday, instead he said to come back in 10 days after soaking the finger in warm water with hydrogen peroxide for an hour to remove the bandage then see him early that morning and he'd remove the stitches and we'd go from there. For now the Vicodan ( ) is doing it's duty for John and he's resting very well, the Naproxen is also doing what it's supposed to do and keeping the throbbing down. So, he's taking just one day at a time!!! I'm so thankful that his new job has been just awesome, the HR lady told me to tell him NOT to worry about his job, that it was "very secure", these were her words, that he should just rest and get better and they'd see him next Tuesday after the holiday. She even called yesterday after she got his excuse from the ER doctor over the fax machine. God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform....
Thanks again everyone, you mean the world to me AND to John!!!!

Sandi - I'm sorry to hear about your husband's accident. Both of you will be in my prayers. Although he's in the pain, you are also in need of the prayers to keep him going too. :-) God bless you both!

Hi Traci,

John's doing just fine!! Thank the Lord!! I really thought he was going to lose his finger when I first saw it. But, the surgeon who worked on him did a magnificent job and even though the fingertip itself looks a little funky, it's still there, the nail is even back some, and he can work with the finger, partially, he doesn't have full mobility and may never, but, he has enough to do his job, and that's all that matters. It will never look like it did before, but, hey, he's still got it and that's what's most important! He had just started his new job 2 weeks prior, and we didn't know how it would affect that, it was a temp for hire position that was to be a 3 month probationary period, well, 2 days before Thanksgiving, which was a few days early, they made him permanent, and they LOVE him, but, like I always tell him, "what's not to love"... The man is a prince among men! So, it all turned out like it was supposed to! It's all good~
Thanks for asking about him Traci! I'll let him know you did....
Hope you're doing well, take good care out there in desert!!!!

Sandi,
I am very sorry to hear about John's accident. My husband cut his finger on a glass. Yes a glass while he was doing the dishes. It wasn't a chainsaw but it cut the artery in his finger. It was a really bad cut. I thought he was going to bleed to death. I didn't know it was as bad as it was till I got him to urgent care and they took the towel off. It was at Grossmont as well. They took the towel off and said no way can we take care of this here and called an ambulance to transport him to the emergency
room. We got lucky, the ambulance driver called grossmont e.r. and they were going back and fourth telling him they were on standby. They had no room so the emt said I'm taking you to Sharp Memorial. They handle these kind of things better anyway. Sorry such a long story but needless to say he was operated on by a hand surgeon and is fine today. Keep the faith and tell John we are praying for him. My husband wishes he had a more manly story like John's. He gets teased .

Hi Tara,
Traci used to be a regular on Dr. Callery's "old" Thinnertimes and has been "away" since last summer so she just found the post about John's accident, it actually occurred last August!!! So, it's well in the past, but, I DO thank you for those prayers, and you betcha, I'll take em, we can never get too many of those! I'm so glad that your hubby was taken good care of too, and it's okay, he can say he had hand surgery, that'll make any guy more manly!!!
Thanks Tara for posting!!! and tell hubby I think he's awesome for doing the dishes for you!!!! YOU ROCK TARA'S HUBBY
