There is overlap
junior 14, 16 and womens 14w, 16W
There are differences. The womens sizes are cut a little fuller in the hips and the waist usually has some elastic in it as compared to the junior or regular sizes. Regular is usually 2-16 and plus is 14W-32W....

Misses sizes are usually even numbers (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18) - that's as high as they usually go. Women's sizes start at 14W and go to 28W in most stores (and sometimes higher, depending on the store). Don't know about Juniors sizes.
I love how they call Women's departments in some stores "Womens World" - like it's some magical, fantasy place where all us women go to run around and try on stretchy-waisted clothes. There's never a "Misses World" or a "Juniors World" - I guess once you've attained gravitational authority, you deserve your own world.
Well, gotta go - Robinson's May is having a great sale in Womens World!:D

Sizes
To answer your questions, yes, junior sizes run smaller than misses. For example, I can wear a size 4 or 6 in misses jeans, but I wear a size 11 or 13 in junior jeans. The juniors are cut for smaller hips and thighs, more of a boyish figure. Misses are cut for more curvy figures, women with butts and thighs.
Plus sizes are usually garish material cut as refrigerator slipcovers with a bow or lace attached somewhere. They're horribly unfashionable, but cost three times more than misses. It's really criminal how heavy women are robbed with fashion. I'm still a big girl at heart and it still steams me how MO women are taken advantage of. There are no fashionable, attractive women's clothes less than $500 an outfit. We've been robbed all of our lives, ladies, and it pisses me off!
Ooops, sorry...I got a little distracted there.

I really like Torrid clothes. I dont know if they have those stores where yall are, but you can get them at their website too. Torrid.com. Lane Bryant is alright and all... Sometimes they have cute stuff. Torrid is my favorite big girl store tho! One day I swear I almost hit this girl when I was sitting outside the store waiting on my mom, this skinny girl walked by and goes "hahahhaa torrid, thats like... a store for fat people. Fat people shouldnt wear that stuff?! Thats gross! thats almost like that lane bryant store, how disgusting!" I almost got out of my seat and hit her, but I was too busy being comfortable sitting down eating a pretzel... lol Jk about that part :-D

Theres Torrid here in San Diego. I love going in there and looking, but I'm too self conscious to actually buy anything from there. Other then the occasional t-shirt or undies. I would have smacked that girl Holly. I sincerely hope that people like that get fat when they get older....or at least get a taste of their own medicine.
