Popcorn
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if it is OK to have popcorn. I am going to go see a movie on Saturday and I love popcorn. I know that there is no protein in it but I am OK with that. Let me know what you think or if you have had popcorn post-op. Thanks

I tried popcorn about 2 months post-op and it was fine... I still eat it occasionally to this day. If you try, don't forget to chew, chew, chew! Popcorn is so easy to just pop in your mouth!
Enjoy the movie!

I was eating popcorn around 2 months as well. I was getting it from Henrys(yumm)Market and it went down well. Just eat it slow and chew. Make sure you dont put extra butter(dont want to dump @ the movies). Enjoy the movie.

Jim,
Denise is right -- no extra butter on the popcorn! Otherwise it should be fine. It's got fiber if nothing else going for it.

I'm workign on my third month out and I eat popcorn all the time. I usually eat it when I ahve that snack attack to keep me from eating candy or ice cream. I do try to take in extra protein during the day though to help balance it out.
Like they all said...chew, chew, chew!

I have heard those little kernel peices are what is bad, They can get stuck in your pouch so just make sure (like everyone has said) Chew, chew, chew. Or do what i did, i brought some soy nuts, to crunch on. Then i did not feel so left out.

My post-surgery booklet tells me popcorn is okay EXCEPT for microwave popcorn; not sure why.

Warning: Kinda gross
I eat microwave popcorn at home alone. I chew it and get all the flavor and eat the part that disintegrates. I spit out all the stuff that just doesn't chew up well. If I go out and eat popcorn I just eat a small amount and chew well.
