Default off the subject question, those in CA

Hi:

I just wanted some insight from those of you from CA. I am from PA and my husband and I are suppose to attend a company Christmas party in California in Dec. It is at a country club and says "Holiday Attire"...I would think that means suits and dresses..but am I right and if so..what type of dress would be good for me to wear. I know things there are different than here and I don't want to show up looking stupid.

Any Help Please.

Thanks

Hi Barb...

Since you will be at a country club, I would go for a Christmassy cocktail dress. Elegant, I think is the word I an looking for. No old bridesmaids dresses or anything.

I hope you have a blast at your party!

Thumbs up Party Attire

Barb:

I agree with Whitney. You can't go wrong with an elegant little cocktail dress. Dress it up with just the right amount of sparkly jewelry and a pair of strappy shoes. Voilà! Classy holiday wear. I personally think a full length dress would be too formal. You should be able to dress the hubby in a nice suit...no tux necessary unless it says so on the invitation.

Have a great time! Be careful...you'll fall in love with California!

holiday attire to me always ment the sparkly stuff with red or green
but I always wore black because I didn't want to be mistaken for mrs claus
or santa or both for that matter

if your ready,, in calf to hell with it all and do what you feel
that's what calf is all about

thanks for your help...I was thinking a nice cocktail dress...not long or too much glitz..simple and after all I want to show a little leg since they are looking so nice these days. I guess at this point I will wait until close to the event to shop since I have no idea how much weight I will lose (I am sooo stuck right now) and what size I will be in. I am excited to see CA...I have never been there before.

Default update

Just an update...I did get to the Christmas party in California. I wore a velvet pant suit and looked and felt great...very appropriate. thanks for all of your suggestions about what to wear. I ended up with the pant suit feeling I would get a little more use out of that while losing weight rather than a dress. I would attach a picture if I could but don't know how. We did get to San Francisco one day but the trip was so short. Next year we are planning on staying a few extra days.
