How long, oh, how long???
I am not quite 3 weeks out, and I still have a whole lot of nausea. Is this normal? How long can I "count" on this occurring? Will anything stop it? I don't even want to move because it feels like one false step and stuff will be coming out from the top and bottom too. I am afraid to take my meds because I'm sure I'll hork them up (and one of them is Phenergan--for nausea!) and I want to move around and hasten this weight loss business, but I get a new wave of nausea every time I shift positions in bed, let alone being physically active.
I'm very (erp) frustrated.

Donna did you contact your Doctor about this on going feeling on nausea? Don't hesitate to do so, maybe there is something else he could give you for the nausea. Poor Donna you have been through so much. I am sorry this journey hasn't been easier to go through. You are a fighter I know you will be up and kicking in no time. Big Hug.

Thank you my dear Slimmin Sistahs!
I know I should call him, but I keep thinking it's something that I'm doing, or that everyone feels this way and I'm just being a baby about it. How far out did you ladies feel nauseated?

Donna, hun... it will feel like it's gonna last forever! But it should go away in the next few weeks (which I know sounds like an eternity). Everything made me feel nauseous! And I mean everything. Even water! I thought it would never go away, but when others here told me it would get better... that there was an end to the nightmare, it made me feel better. I just needed to know I wouldn't feel like that for the rest of my life.
Hang in there!

To be honest Donna I never really felt nausea after leaving the hospital. Donna I never want you to think anything you do is the cause, even if it is you don't deserve to suffer like you are. I hoping this will pass soon.

(Raising hand) Yes, I felt (still feel) nausea.
... and I had to leave work early today because of it. I take a Phenergan every 12 hours and that helps a lot. But I know, even w/o the pill, that my nausea has gotten better. I've always had a sensitive stomach anyway.
One problem I'm having is getting enough to eat every day. I doubt I'm eating 500 calories even. Hunger and thirst will increase nausea.
Do you still have your gallbladder?

No, I gave my gall bladder to the fine folks at Sharp Memorial Hospital about 2 years ago.
Today has been the best day I have had since the surgery. Minimal nausea, water only tastes a little icky, and I was able to walk some and be active at a family event.
As long as I know that it can hang around for awhile, and I remember to eat with a whole lot more restraint this early in the game, perhaps I'll start feeling okay soon. I've lost 24lbs in 22 days. ;-D
Now that I know that this is something that shall pass, I can deal with it a lot easier. Thanks Traci!

Glad you are feeling a bit better. I was constantly nauseous for the first 3 mo or so. Now, I only feel that way about 2-3 days out of the week. I haven't taken anything for it for months but think I'll ask when i go to the doc in December. Good luck and let us know how you are doing!
