Baron hook it up. That would be great to have something that the whole thinnertimes family could meet and enjoy eachothers company.

Oh how i would love to attend this event! Give us some more info. There needs to be a workshop on navigating your way through protein supplements and vitamins. What to get, where, how to get samples, etc! I know that sounds silly, but that was a big issue for me for quite sometime and I know it has been for others.

I will be contacting the Ontario, California Convention Center to help me out.

Amber, I added a workshop on vitamin supplements.

This idea hit me last night. I woke up and had to write it all down before I forgot. I've never heard of anything like this before, so we might as well let our voice be heard. I'd love to get the good Dr. here to do a key note.

Any and all ideas are open and welcome.

For those of us who are geographically challenged, Where in the heck is Ontario, CA? What's the closest major city? A date that far off gives me time to plan and save so i can get out there and meet you folks!

(I, we, it) is located in the "Inland Empire" of Southern California. The convention center is only a few minutes from the Ontario Airport. We are about 30 miles from Disneyland, LA, and the San Bernardino Mountains. So, you can literally snow ski in the morning, and spend the afternoon at the beach, and the evening at Disneyland!

Oh yeah - we are also about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Las Vegas (45 minutes if you fly).

Smile Some ideas

having a nutritionist there would be helpful, that person could also address supplements and vitamin concerns as well.

I think something geared to those who are "long termers" like 18+ months out is good. Not that we are different but our needs are. We are over obsessing, we are usually over food issues, we are usually over being deemed "Weightloss Patient" I dont know how you could develop something geared to those type of folks, but I think it would be a hit. I know Im over it, I cant be alone but I dont want to face my new life alone either, I still need support but a different kind. Get what Im saying n stuff?

Something for pre be's or early post ops, there is a book called Overcoming Overeating-I think that would be a great topic.

Info about "switch addiction" could be helpful as well. It happens to many of those who have WLS.

Obesityhelp has a confrence that is coming to Orange County area in December as well. Ya might want to check that out.

Hmmmmmm.. big wheel keep on turnin' .... rollin', rollin'.......

Having booths with different suppliers of protien and vitamin supplements would be a great idea. I have had a terrible time trying to find things that I can tollerate. Maybe open it up to vendors of other WLS friendly foods, like beef/turkey jerky, and stuff like that. I think it is a great idea, and it would be a lot of fun for everyone from here to get together for something like that!
