Ok, I know that you all have probably heard every insurance question in the world but here's one more. Who actually approves the surgery, my insurance company (Aetna) or my managed care group (Physicians Care Associates Medical Group)?

I guess I'm confused because somebody I work with was unable to even get a referral to Dr. C because of a lack of supervised diet history but I've done all of the same things that she has and I got the referral...We are about the same weight and bmi and I don't have any super serious co-morbidities.

Any light you can shed on the whole insurance game is appreciated. I just faxed over my last test today so expect to go into dictation any day now.

Well then I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's the medical group because I think I have a better chance at being approved. I'm so nervous...No more tests to take so now I'm just twiddling my thumbs and waiting for approval.

As soon as I know I will post it...I had a false alarm yesterday, a letter from Aetna came but it was just something about the change in some drug coverages....Ahhhh, hopefully I'll hear something next week...keep your fingers crossed!
