Default Not Weight Related! - Christmas Poem

My Mother-in-Law wrote this poem and I thought it was cute...so decided to share it with ya'll.

OCTOBER 25TH MESSAGE

Christmas is coming, only two months to go
Have you started your shopping? Will your answer be yes or "no"
If it's "no", then you know what you must do
you must make a list and decide what to get "who".

Decisions, Decisions--what a hectic time of year
and we all know that shopping can be a bear
but if you do it early, it can be a total joy
as you drink your hot chocolate and wrap every toy

So, don't get all frazzled, and end up in a mess
do your shopping early---give it your best guess
Then you can sit back and enjoy every part of the holiday
because with the New Year will come the bills you must Pay.....

Talking Mine's Done!!

Everyone is going to hate me, but yes, our Christmas shopping is done. As in complete, finished, no more to do! My wife and I both dislike having to fight people in the stores so we get ours done early. We started doing this a few years ago, and believe me, it's so much easier, and much less stressful!

It's really nice to sit back and enjoy the holidays knowing all that stuff is done, and not being hit with bills in January.

I gotta admit, I still like a challenge. I always go to Best Buy the day after Thanksgiving (I bribe people to let me cut in line and share a 12 cup "to go" container of Starbucks mocha). It's fun, I get people laughing and take the edge off the stress from standing in line for so long (I get there about 4:30 in the morning). And, since it IS the first real shopping day for the holiday season, people are still in a good mood. I would never try this the third week of December (I may be nuts, but I'm not crazy!)

Adorable poem! Pat, I'm jealous! I haven't done diddly yet! I think I'm just gonna get the kids a couple of things and give them money to shop (11 and 13 they are hopeless to buy for).

I've a great idea for the kids - GIFT CARDS. Get a few from different places and let them get what they want! I would also get them something to unwrap such as a shirt or something. You gotta have at least one package under the tree on Christmas day!

Oh they are gonna get some slippers, PJ's, CD's, etc. I go all out on stocking stuffers-nail polish, make up, hair do-da's, earrings, etc. (no candy). I just thought (and they agreed) that it would be easier (and cheaper) to hit the day after sales so they can get stuff they like and that fits well. Last year I had to take more than half of the stuff back to exchange sizes, colors, styles. I wouldn't leave them empty handed-I'm not the Grinch! Gift cards are a good idea though! Thanks!

Hi Cindy
What a cute poem. I send my kids to do the shopping the morning of Christmas eve and then we have our big family dinner and open presents at the ranch that nite. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. hehehehe We used to have to do the ranch chores on Christmas day because the workers always got the day off. Now 50 years later, we don't do the chores, but still celebrate Christmas eve.
This year, December is going to be crazy for us. My daughter is graduating from law school the week before Christmas in San Diego, so we'll be making a couple of 5 hour trips south during that time.
