Kellye: This is a really OLD thread, from 2005...You would do better to ask this question in a new thread...under say "post-op". That way more people will see it and be able to offer you advice.
Vomitting mucus only usually means that you are not chewing enough, you ate too much, or that your pouch doesn't agree with your food choice at that time. Options...don't eat it early in the day. Opt for things your tummy doesn't mind. I eat weight control oatmeal with a scoop of unflavored unjury for added protein. It's soft and I usually don't have any issues getting it to stick. Then later in the day...eat your chicken. Just be sure to chew, chew, chew....you want to puree it in your mouth before swallowing. And if your ealry out...you shouldn't be eating too much...about 2 - 4 oz. max of something that dense. Chicken and other dense meats/proteins take a LONG time to digest, and therefore you don't need to eat as much of them to make you feel FULL...or overfull. Chicken, or anytype of protein material will fill you up quickly. Going past that point often leads to mucus vomits. It's what happens when we over indulge, or the pouch says..."NO WAY JOSE!". Best of luck...
