Thumbs up A good book to read

OK tonight at the support group meeting I mentioned a book my friend told me about. The title is PSYCHCYBERGENICS. It is written by a plastic surgeon who said he did in one day with a nip in tuck that many people couldn't do with years of psychothereapy. I have not read it, but plan on getting it. It deals with our self image and eating disorders. Thought I would throw it out there.

Hey Katy thanks for the info. I love reading. I know this is off topic but who has read A Million Little Pieces? Its on Oprahs Book Club. I am still in the process of reading it but so far it is a very intresting book. Just a recommendation for you book lovers.

Read Conversations with the fat girl. About 2 friends with weight problems. One gets GBS, one doesn't. Dynamics of how the relationship changed.

SOunds like a good book! She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb is a good book the main character struggles with her weight. Did any of you read Blubber by Judy Blume in grade school. It was sad! About a girl with weight issues.

Thanks Nikki. I am making my book list out right now. I think we should still have a book exchange with the clothing exchange. Is that a bad idea?

thanks for the book suggestions. We were talking last night at the meeting about the psychological ramifications of GBPS and how most shrinks don't understand what we go through. That's why I put that book out there. My friend said it is really good. I guess it's time to make a trip to the Library.

Yes, She's Come Undone was an excellent book as well! The last book Bridget mentioned in another thread was good too. "Good in Bed". (The author's other works, "Little Earthquakes", etc. are great!) Of course, I never remember authors. I'll have to find who it was later. Check out Wally Lamb's other works too, he is a divine author.
