Hi everyone... quick question, i was planning on going to the early support group meeting tomorrow but I just read my paperwork and it says that this meeting is for post op patients up to 3 months out ONLY. Everyone was asking me if I was going and I plan on it, but after reading that should I attend or not? I am still pre-op, just waiting on insurance approval but I'd like to know as much as I can and meet people too. What do y'all think?

If you wanted to go, Im sure no one would ask you to leave. It's good to hear what post ops go through. Why should you have to wait to hear what its all about? Your on your way ya know.... thats my 2 cents. I think support is support no matter how you look at it, no matter where you are in the process... you may not have alot of input but to know what to expect down the road, theres nothing wrong with wanting to know now.. thats the way I see it.

Not to dispute with other's opinions, but............ the reason those meetings are post-op only is because some people may feel inhibited by having pre-ops at the meetings. They may not bring up "touchy" subjects or negative complications if they are afraid that a pre-op might be scared off by their comments. I wouldn't recommend to a pre-op that they attend a post-op only meeting. Their turn will come in time.

I had my first consultation with Dr. Potts and Leslie said I have - or should go to last Wednesday's meeting and the meeting tomorrow. She said I have to go to at least two meetings. I hope I was not mis-informed because it is a little hassle for me to get off work early on Thursdays. I will be there and hopefully won't be asked to leave.

Cindy this was started over tuesday's meeting. Thursday's meeting is for pre-ops. No worry you will not be asked to leave.
