Default Remember me it's been awhile. 23W Preg.

Hello All!
Sorry it's been so long I have been very busy. I have my good days and bad. I had really bad morning sickness and it's finally going away. Well as many of you know this pregnancy was a total surprise and mainly shocking ! Well I am now 23w3d almost 6 months. I have continued to lose weight although I feel confused I only lost 3 pounds last month my ob was very happy as for me I feel sad that I didn't lose more. I know that I am to maintain my weight right now but my brain is telling me I still have a lot to lose. I don't know who to talk to my husband keeps on me to eat for the baby and makes comments at times about how much I am eating. The ultrasound showed the baby to be 2-3 weeks smaller than it's suppose to measure. Ob thinks it's due to GBS. Well I had my open surgury Feb. 4, 2005.
I weighed 298 day of surgury and I currently weigh 208. My goal is 165. Thank you all for your support just thought I'd give you an update.
Sylvia

Sylvia,

You're doing great! Congrats. I know how it is when husbands watch what you eat. Makes me crazy! To actually lose weight while pregnant is not common, so sounds to me like you're doing very well. You're very close to the century club. Hang in there, and keep posting! We've missed you.

Syliva,
Don't worry you will do fine. Eat what you need to eat, not what others tell you to eat.

Several people have been pregnant shortly after bypass and delivered healthy babies. There are a number of reasons why a baby may be small, other than weight loss. It's still early as most babies gain their greatest amount of weight in the last trimester. Your baby will get the nutrients it needs from your body. You will have plenty of time after the baby is born to lose the weight. You do the best you can nutritionally for the baby. If the OB was truly concerned, they would give you IV nutrition if necassary. Take your vitamins, drink your water and find some time to enjoy the life within you.
