Question Hospital Stay!

I just found out today that I have been approved for surgery . Does any one have any suggestions on what I will need for my hospital stay.

Here's what I needed: socks or slippers with treads on the soles for traction, chapstick, a change of clothes for the day you leave (comfy, loose, button up),
( leave jewelry, purse, etc. at home). Bring your insurance card, ID, and a credit card for any co-pays. I didn't need much. Chapstick was a MUST! I slept most of the time and wore my hospital gown for the entire three days I was there. They provided shampoo and soap for my first shower. (OW!) If you need anything else, your visitors can bring items to you. My mom stayed with me for the entire three days, so I had everything I needed because of her.

Wear their what you can wear home. I made the mistake of bringing PJ's I never go around to putting them on. At least I don't rememeber putting them on.

Chapstick is a must, must must. I took me weeks to get my lips back in order after my stay. I forgot my chapstick. Now whenever some one is in the hospital I stop and pick them up a chapstick. that's how bad it was.

CC and ID that is about it.

Food to stock for home will be your next question I am sure.

Don't buy a lot of anything. like don't buy a case of chicken broth unless you are like me and actually will use it. Buy small sample packets of stuff expecially protein drink things. What you like now you might now like or tolerate after surgery.

One of the best things I bought was the little kiddy size juicy juicy no sugar added juices. They were just the right size. They are 1/2 the size of regular juice boxes.

#2 best thing. If you doctor allows you to have chicken broth. My mom made me some homemade chicken soup from scratch. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. So maybe make some up and freeze it in SMALL PORTION (like 1/4 cup)

Any more question please feel free to ask.

Congratulations!!!!!!
