Default When should I call?

So I saw my Dr last Wednesday and she was going to submit my referral. When do you think I should call and who first....the Dr to see if there is any news or the insurance company?

I am anxious but apprehensive...UGH!

I always called my insurance company. It was difficult for me to get a timely response from the doctor's office. Plus, I always felt a bit guilty bugging the nurses at the office as they're so busy. I felt that the insurance company owed me the right to bug them as many times as I needed to.

SRS that's who I had. I had to appeal 3 times with them. I hope that you don't have to go through the same thing as me!

Well I waited on hold for 10 minutes just to have them tell me they will have my Dr. call me back. I thought I was calling SRS medical group to get direct info on the referral, guess not. When I call Sharp HMO the tell me it goes to the med grp first and to call them........what am I doing wrong?

Jeanie, why were you denied and what did all of your appeals say? Did your Dr help out with them or was it all personal? I am pretty sure i'll have to appeal but I want to make sure I do it right this time. TIA

Hi Britt you sweet thang! I called our Dr. and then spoke directly with her nurse... he was sweet and said he was just waiting for the medical records to be pulled. I waited a few days then called my insurance directly. It only took a week to get the refferal. And a couple days for Dr Callery's to schedual my consult.

Hey I didn't know you had MY doctor. She's the best! If it wasn't for her I would have never had WLS. Have faith in her, and she will help however she can.
All though I almost gave her heart failure on the 15th. I went in for an appt and she hadn't seen me since Oct or Nov, so she was REALLY surprised when she walked in the door. She just said WOW Jeanie you look awesome!

Well our Dr. is out until next week BUT......................

The person who returned the phone call to tell me she was out said that her computer shows I was approved on Monday at 1:49pm.

I am still in shock, not ready to believe it and get my hopes up and have it be a mistake. I was told I would get a letter in the mail and I should get a call from Dr. C sometime soon.

I think I may throw up.

Thanks for sticking by me guys.........lets hope the road hits a downward slant from here on out cuz I am tired fo climbing this hill

Thumbs up Sweet

That's awesome!! You will get a letter from SRS in the mail. It's probably already been mailed out. Congrats! I hope that the person you talked to was right, because that would totally suck if they weren't. GO check your mail for the letter!!
