I think Chrissie may have met her match for my favorite newbie. Seriously I might just "switch teams" cos i love you that much.

To the OP, go ahead have solids.... come back & let us know how it went.

I was on purees in the hospital, and will be on them for a whole month. Every surgeon is different. Talk to yours when you have your first check up.

Trust me her surgeon has told her she needs to be liquids right now. No need to ask.

I was allowed on soft solids after one week. Still doing the refried beans w/salsa and tomatoe soup - but my sister-in-;aw is making the soup, and it is really tasty! Mmm mmm mmm. I did get to have an egg prior to the post-op 1 week visit, and that waas a welcome meal. I;ve had an egg a day since (now 10 days post op). I go back in a month.

I am mixing my protein mix with coffee in the mornings, and it is very tasty. I also ordered some powdered peatnut butter from one of those vendors that lurk around here, and it has been a nice additive, too.

Down 20 pounds so far (3 weeks, since the start of the liquid diet).

figured it out! Now you can see my mug and that of my beautiful wife, Laurie. What you don't see is that the bottom of this picture showed Laurie and I at our favorite seafood restaurant in Cancun with friend who live there. And they are so thin!
