I loved this show before WLS even entered into my mind.

Thanks for the "heads up" on this... I've missed seeing The Davis Docs... I'll have to mark my calendar... be sure to post a reminder when the time grows closer!!!

Dr. Garth is my surgeon and I am all set on the date. I really hope the show continues because it educates the world about WLS. This show caught my eye and that was the turning point for me to go ahead with the surgery!

Thanks for the update (that's the day after my surgery). The hubby and I have been watching all the repeats as they air. One of our favorite shows. We also love the one about the Brookhaven Obesity Clinic. In fact last week as we were in the hospital room the night of the hubby's surgery we were watching re-runs of both the shows. |

I, too like the show but find myself cringing when they show people ordering in fast foods and gorging while in the hospital. It is similar to the show, "Hoarders", there are a lot more underlying mental illness and enabling going on, yikes!
However, I use this show as my "scared straight" program. It helped me make the absolute final decision to get Gastic Bypass. As much as I don't relate to these people, I am morbidly obese and so therefor, on paper, little different from them. I always said to my friend, "Shoot me if I reach 200 pounds", so now at 300 pounds, I could see myself in the shoes/beds of these patients!

Date not set yet but a follow-up program will air on Discovery Health soon tracking latest on some of the patients featured.
My Dr Nowzaran was the Dr on Discovery health channels "1/2 ton teen", "1/2 ton mom", "1/2 ton dad"
