Default Abdominal hernia, anyone had that?

I have'nt been on for a while, although I will say the last time I was on, I was complaining about my tummy really hurting all the time.

Come to find out I have a hernia, it feels like a bulge right in the front of my abdonminal wall.

For about a month ( amonth or so ago) I was having a lot of pain, when I ate, and I was throwing up after I ate. I came on and asked but no one said they had had that problem.

I sort of blew it off, until my little bulge started looking like I was 9mo pregnant with a hamster!

Now I am going to have to have a lap surg, to fix the hernia. Anyone else had a hernia fix??

Oh yeah my weight is down to 195 now~ It has been going slow for the past 6-8 weeks.

Ohhh someone that has the same thing as me! I've been told it's my stomach that has come through my abdominal wall! I'm going to get it fixed when I *hopefully* get my TT approved...no reason to have Two surgeries =/

Dania! Wow you have had amazing success with your weight loss! You are absoluetely gorgeous and can't even believe the "above" pictures were even you!

Everyone should read your journals. They are great~

Does your hernia hurt? has your doctor told you anything about being careful, cautions, or things to be aware of?

My surg is scheduled for the week after next. Not really looking forward to surgery again. Last time (November) it really pooped me out for about 2 months~ I hope this is a lot different.

Awww thanks I haven't updated my OH journal in a while. I should do that

My hernia doesn't hurt, but i do sometimes have an issue eating, I feel like throwing up a lot, and I know that isn't normal. I just "sweat" it out and lie down so I don't go and hurl. It's not really even sore either. When I lie down, I can make it completely disappear too...until I push out my stomach...I hold it in when i'm coughing or sneezing though, I don't want it to get "caught" anywhere =/

My doctor said not to do anything strenuous...that's about it. If I don't get the TT aprroved this time around, i'll have to go get it fixed by the surgeon who did my bypass...since she repairs hernias too etc...I'm not looking forward to going under the knife...again

BTW dee22 and dee73 are both me lol...I logged in with the wrong ID, and apparently the person I emailed about removing that ID, hasn't lol

Thanks so much for your info. I too have been having a problem with eating and then needing to throw up. It all happened quite quickly around a month or six weeks ago. All of a sudden my stomache was hurting a lot when I ate, and I had the painful need to throw up a lot. I threw up several times in restraunts, once so quickly I threw up in the garbage can behind our table!! (it was in an outside cafe' thank goodness).

Mine hurts a lot after I eat, mostly because it bulges out so much, and I have this bulging little ball on my stomache. It's weird. My daughter in law has coined it " your third bood" !! LOL~

Mine hurt a lot and I had trouble eating, but never threw up. Be careful and have your doctor make sure you are not "enstrangulating" your intestines.
