Default So I've decided.

So I've decided.

I called Positive Choice today to talk to one of the ladies to ask her some questions before I finally decided this is what I wanted.

She said I need to fill out the Bariatric Surgery Pre-Program Questionnaire and send it in to her.

She said that I'd need to start going to Curves more than what I do. She said 3-4 times a week for 6 months and start going to their Dietician Program and keeping a foodlog.

After that 6 months (I think this is what she said) that things will start rolling and I'll need to lose 10% of my body weight...30lbs.

Talk to a doctor sometime between

Then we will get intouch with my insurence and wait for their ruling. I asked her what the likelyhood of them saying no was and she said 95% of the time they say yes unless you've developed a heart problem or something. I doubt I'd develope a heart problem...I'm only 21 years old.

I filled out the Questionnaire and I'll probably send it in sometime before the week is over. She'll send me a ticket for the Dietician and I'll start a hardcore 3 times a week exercise program.

I'm excited...almost all the fear has turned into excitement.

I have one question that I didn't ask her...has anyone experienced the lose of hair? I've heard this happens and It's freaking me out a little bit because I love my hair!! I wouldn't want to lose my hair.

Also, I've decided I want the Laproscopic Surgery...woooo

My hair has been coming out recently and I'm about a month and 2 weeks out. The loss of hair doesn't bother me one bit because I have really thick hair. I've heard it does grow back at about 7-8 months out.

Oh that's awesome! I have thick hair and ALOT of hair haha so I don't think it will be that bad. I just love my hair so I didn't want to look like I was going through Cancer treatments.

hehe I heard about the hair loss too, so I decided to cut my hair. It was pretty long, but not so thick. I figured if I was going to have hair falling out, I'd rather it be short hair, then long hair. I'm not due for pre-op for another month, but what the heck, it's summer and hot!

You are on your way - Congratulations on your decision!

On the subject of hair loss, it grows back when you start eating more food.

Congratulations on taking your first step! I have thin hair due to a thyroid condition and it is coming out pretty bad. Everybody says it'll come back so I try not to stress about it too much!

I am planning on using Rogaine during that time. At our support meeting they said it may help.......not sure anyone tried it before. Anyone here know? Congrats on your decision! Stick with it and show them how badly you want this.

Congrats on your decision, Reeeeka!

I have a very thick head of hair, too, so I'm hoping the hair loss will have minimal impact.
