The gold bond powder works well for prevention but try some monistat and after it begins to clear up some try using a little vitamin e oil to help boost healing and new skin growth. Vitamin e is great stuff. I have the same problem off and on. You have done great with maintaining some of your loss. You have had such a rough way to go that its understandable to have some weight creep back on. Take a look at the pouch rules for dummies and see if that will help you get back on track or help you maintain where you are. With such serious back issues you need to stay down as much as you can. It's great to have you here and I look forward to getting to know you!

I use gold bond powder daily to avoid those rashes. If I don't use it then I get them.. and they are very painful. The ointment to treat yeast kills them, but the key is you have to keep it dry for it to heal. So ointment, and then gold bond powder... numerous times a day you might have to. Good luck Suzy

ALSO, keep documentation of all the Dr. visits you have had to treat the rash. This is amunition as necessity for a tummy tuck. Maybe your insurance would be more willing to cover the TT then.

Default Infection

Do not wait 6 wks to see your doc. Go your PCP or a dermatologist, even everyone's suggestions don't help. If you have a rash so bad its bleeding and open, it could easily cause a serious systemic infection like staph or MRSA, and then you would really, really be sick.

Default Skin Rash

Baza antifungal is for yeast infections. It is used on bedbound people alot. You'll have to go to a specailty drug store to find it. The good old fashioned kind.

Also, Calmoseptine ointment has zinc in it (although it is not antifungal) it helps dry up yucky spots.
