Arrow Blood Poisoned (no joke)

Well as you all are aware I have this crazy central line. I am very careful with it and use extreme steril tech. Well I guess that wasn't good enough, as earlier in the week I became very unusually sick. I never run a fever and I was running 102.8 on monday-wednesday, I had lab cultures done and it turned up that my line was so infected I had blood poison. Talk about miserable. My whole body was freezing and here it is in the 90's and I am covered with 3 blankets and still freezing. Well went to the doctors today, everything is stable and on Monday they are doing Surgery to take out the line. I am doing much better with foods and liquids now..... Although tell me, has anyone had problems with your food tasting odd since your surgery? I had dinner tonight and honestly I couldn't tell if I liked it or not.

You have really been through a lot! What amazes me is your happy spirit in spite of all of that! I bet you will be relieved to get that line out of you.
I haven't had any issues with my food tasting odd other than when I could have something besides jello, broth and juice I thought I had died and gone to heaven!

Geeze Suezq, I hope your problems will be over soon. What a bummer of a ride you're having. Thank God the Dr.s seem to be vigilant.
I'll pray for you.

Girl, what are we going to do with you! You poor dear! About the odd taste of food, I had that and still do from time to time. I put a ton of salt on everything anymore. I also had an unusal metallic taste in my mouth for a couple months straight and now it comes and goes. There was a thread on here about it and what it was but I can't remember. It has something to do with losing weight. I'll be calling you tommorrow! I'm sooo terrible right now with everything that is going on. Bad Amber Bad Bad! Take care and I'm praying for you!

I've been paying attention to your progress since your surgery & I'm very sorry about all of the troubles you've had. I hope things will improve for you. As far as food tasting funky...I'm still in the broth, jello, pudding stage for another week. Nothing tastes strange but the sugar-free things are incredibly sweet, almost too much so. I enjoy the saltiness of the broth.
I wish you well & hope your struggles will end for you. Pam
