Default Kashi Go Lean Crunchy Bars

Hi everybody. I've noticed a few of you speak on eatting Kashi products, but I haven't seen anywhere regarding the protein bars. I bought a box from Sam's Club, but have yet gotten a chance to taste them because I'm on the 5 Day Pouch Test.

How are they? Are they better than Atlkins Protein Bars?

I need an on-the-go bar so I want something that I can get protein from and taste well.

If you have any other protein bar suggestion please tell!!

I love the KAshi crunchy bars but also their TLC granola bars have a good amount of protein in them for what they are. The cashi protein roll and chewy bars I don't like so much funny aftertaste because you have to chew it so much but I'll grab on and leave it in the car or at work just incase.

Not that I've tried protein bars yet.. but I thought I looked at a label once, aren't they high in sugar? Perhaps I'm confused with another product.

please help!

Kashi is relitivly low in sugar and for me the fact that they don't have the sugar alcohols is great. Those do a number on me. But the Pumpkin pie bar has only 8g and it is natural.

Sugar:

The chocolate peanut and the chocolate almond has 13 grams of sugar

The chocolate caramel 14 grams

Is that too much?

I can only eat 1/2 at a time. so you're looking at like 7g and as I said I can do the real sugar in small doses noy the artifical stuff. try it is the only way I think you will know.

I can process sugars with no problem but I don't want to over do it.

I just checked Atkins Bars and the sugars were much better....Atkins Advantage Caramel Fudge Brownie Bar has 1 gram and 12 proteins. The Chocolate Peanut Butter has 1 gram of sugar and 15 proteins.

So I think it will be Atkins.

Kimber thanks for bringing up the sugars. I was so busy looking at proteins I fail to look at the sugars.

I would just be afraid what they are useing to replace the sugar and wether your body knows what to do with those chemicals. I will admit to splenda in my coffee in the morning but you are talking about massive amounts of artificial.

Well it wouldn't be that serious for me. I work from home so it would be occassionally on the week-ends if I get hungry while I'm running errands. I wouldn't use it for a daily snack.
