takes a bit for the swelling to go down but your still losing during that time. all my swelling was on one side, so i looked really lopsided. used to have a nice firm fat belly, now it looks like jello. you got to love it baby. congrats and prayers for a speedy recovery

Hi Denise, I'm glad you're home & did well during your surgery. I'm also glad you have a realistic view of your upcoming weight loss. Take care of yourself & recover well. Pam

Stacie that is what I hoping. I understand it takes time. I know it will not fall off over night but I feel like I am still swollen or maybe that is ust me. A couple of people have told me I look like I am losing weight but I think that is because they know I just had weight loss surgery. I refuse to buy a scale now because I know I will be on it everyother hour. I am just blessed to be doing this well.

Ben that is a great weight loss. Congrats. The swelling has gone a lot so hopefully when I go to visit my surgeon this coming Friday I will have at least lost 5-10 pounds. Don't want to expect anything drastic at first. Thank you for the blessing Ben.

Thank you Pam. I try and not expect to be a size I know my body is shaped for. I have very wide hips. I get that for my mother. Even when my mother was small she still had these hips that would never go away. So I am prepared to be a little heavier then what the standard chart says I should be, which I think is about 150-160.

Hollie I feel so bad I didn't get to share with everyone when my surgery was going to be mainly you. It happen so fast. I was called the day before and asked did I want to have it the next day. I had so much I had to take care of last minute. I never made it to sleep at all that night. The anesthesiologist didn't even get the chance to finish pocking me I was already sleep on the table. I was so wiped once I layed on that bed I had no time to be scared or worried. I knew God was on my side and the sand man was heavy on my mind. Hollie your day is coming soon I can feel it. I hope you can forgive me for not letting you know.

Denise,

I'm going to try and prepare in case they call me ahead of time too. I have the kind of job where I can do that and I know lots of people don't, so I plan to scoop up an earlier date if one comes along. I bet you were in a daze when that happened! As for the weight loss.....I think you are thinking right. My friend that had the surgery said that you retain so much water and there is weight from anesthesia, and swelling, etc. I was thinking a lot falls off the first few weeks and she said it doesn't. I'm going to try to focus on eating right and wherever that lands me......that is where I am meant to be. I have almost no hips......but this belly......sheesh! I am so thrilled you are doing so well.

Default Good news!

Thats good to hear that you are gonna hold off on buying a scale. It can be maddening, as you will hop on it at least 3 times a day.

One of Stacie's girlfriends had to take her scale from her, I had to take Janice's ... talk about obsessive. I never bought one. Then I had complications and when I came out of the hospital about a month later, I needed home health care and they told me i needed a scale.. so I HAD to buy one..... I would weigh myself twice a day.. every morning I HAD to but I weighed myself in the afternoon because I wanted to. So two times a day I would get really down on myself..... thats what happened to Janice and Stacie as well.. it can be both a blessing and a nightmare!

SO how are you feeling this far out?
