Talking Hospital Stay

My re-birth is July 12th, I would love some suggestions of what I really need to take to the hospital. I know chapstick chapsitck chapstick, but what else do I really need. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well I have my bags some what packed. I have a Robe, house shoes, my own pillow, towel and wash cloth. Trust me I work in a hospital and I can't tell you some of the things I have seen on these towel and wash cloths. I am very funny when it comes down to germs. I am always paying attention to things I touch or something someone else might have touched. I know it sounds extreme but I would have to blame it all on being a nurse. I also have some Propel and I am even going to bring the Pain Meds my surgeon has precribed for me just in case I am not feeling to well after I am discharged. Well I hope that helps you a little. They will give you a tooth brush and tooth paste so you are good in that area. I am going to bring my own soap. I am a Dove girl so I don't leave home without it.

Just take the basics, i'm an overpacker and took enough crap to last forever. Pillow (you will sleep better trust me), deodorant, slippers, robe, socks (my feet are always cold), something comfy to wear home (I wore pj's), brush, and that is really all you need. I never go anywhere w/o perfume. I'm a big believer of the whole aroma therapy thing. If you smell better you'll feel better. I took a bunch of stuff to read but I slept so much I never got around to it. If you are far from home a phone card is a good idea. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers! Good luck! I hope this helps a little but the main thing is something for those lips!!!

I took a lot of stuff to the hospital but the only things I needed were:
My cell phone
Shampoo & Conditioner, Soap, face wash (that shower in the hospital was the best ever! The warm water felt so good and refreshing!)
Hair brush
Toothbrush/Paste
Chapstick
Socks (I actually forgot these and the hospital gave me some)
Comfy clothes to wear home
2 pillows- 1 large and 1 small. The small one was perfect to hold against my incisions when coughing or moving around.

The TV in my room didn't work very good so I wish I would have brought a walkman and some nice CDs to listen to.
Other than that I did a lot of sleeping.

In maintenance... now I'm yo-yoing up and down 10 lbs or so. I'm trying to find out how to stay at a set weight, it's rough.
