Default Decided to post this here

I'm sorry to double post this, but since my first post on the pre-op section, I noticed that this section gets more traffic. Again, I am sorry for the double post, but I want to share my good news with everyone!
So I had the stress test today and was cleared for surgery. They did however, decide to place me on blood pressure medicine since it was slightly elevated. Okay and now here's the big date.... February 6,2009. I start my liquid diet this Friday. I am so excited. This is real! Time to go grocery shopping and find things I can eat this week. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone for your time.

How exciting for you!!

Before you know it you're going to have yourself a brand new way of life! Good luck on the pre-op liquid diet.

This time next year you will not even recognize yourself.

Find a protein that you like now. You may not like it as much after surgery as some people complain that things taste too sweet- but you will need to be able to start drinking protein right away to heal more quickly. Some of my favorites are the Lean Desserts and the Whey Gourmet brands.

Make sure you get lots of soups to sip on while you are recovering. The last thing you will want is to get bored with your food choices while you are sitting home drooling over KFC commercials.

LOL. Speaking of TV - if you have a DVR - records LOTS of stuff. TV commercials are brutal right after surgery. I cried over taco bell and KFC commercials!! The fewer reminders the better!

Popsicles will be a godsend. You will have really bad cottonmouth most likely and you can't drink much very quickly- so popsicles are a great thing to make sure you get! I love sugar free bomb pops - I can only find these are superwalmart so I hope you have one near by!

GOOD LUCK!
