I have lost 69 pounds I believe because the batteries on both my scales are dead at the moment. I guess I'm not as obsessed with weighing myself as I was in the beginning. I am down from a size 24 to size 14. I am full of worry that this is it , that I wont lose the other 40 pounds I want to lose but in scanning this thread I see that most folks that started about where I was have lost about the same. I try not to compare to others but cant seem to help it. When I see someone who has lost over 100 pounds already I tend to think I should have too. Dr. Cagle said all my six month labs were good. No problems to speak of. I am not exercising like I should be and want to try and fix that. Have found some good cook books that I am using to make my meals more interesting. My biggest struggles have been emotional ones not physical ones. I unrealistically think I must have thought losing the weight would somehow wave a magic wand and fix all the things wrong in my life and it hasn't. Hummm silly me. But overall I am very happy and would do it again in a minute. I just hope that I am able to take off this additional weight and keep it off. How are the rest of you Feb 09'ers doing?
I'm right there with you. We seem to have somewhat of the same stats. My surgeon told me at my 6 mth appt that the less you have to lose the slower you lose it and also I don't know about you, but I'm only 5'1, so I have a small frame, that also has something to do with it. She said I'm doing wonderful, She thinks I should stop at 130, but, I'll see I may go to 120. She also said I have another year to get to my goal and I'm almost there, so she doesn't want me to lose too much. You are doing great! Don't stress over it, it'll come off, just keep doing what you doing! GOOD LUCK!

Hey everyone, its so exciting to hear from everyone and see how great you are all doing. I am so glad that I didn't give into my fear and back out. Im have done so well, and I thank God for it everyday. I am down from 270 to 179 as of today. I am loving the new me and my new life. My confidence and the way I feel about myself is way up, and I only expect it to keep growing. My son Eric told me tonight that he can see a hugh difference in me, he said I walk different and that I seem to have a lot more pride in myself,

Now my High today and I have to say this is a hugh high for me, was when my husband picked me up off the couch and carried me to bed, it was wonderful he didn't even act like I was heavy. AWESOME.

Default 8 months post-op

Hi February Staplers!

Wow, I can't believe it has been over 8 months since my surgery. It has been quite a ride. Congrats to everyone for doing so well. It doesn't matter how fast you lose compared to others, we all have different amounts to lose and the speed is variable even within ourselves. This is not a race of speed, only a race to the finish, doesn't matter when you get there, the when & where are different for everyone.

The past couple of months I started having some gallbladder issues, though I didn't realize it was gb until about 3-4 weeks ago. It got progressively worse and painful, culminating in surgery 5 days ago. There were a couple of minor complications but I am doing well. I feel better & I have started losing weight again! I am so glad to have that behind me. I have gone down 93 lbs since the surgery and from a 3X (28-30) to 18s, so down 5 sizes... absolutely amazing.

I am loving my new self and enjoy shopping and accessorizing, wearing makeup and looking so much healthier. I am happy, though I am looking forward to losing about 20-30 more lbs. We are going to Barocay Island, Philippines for a week at Xmas and for our 25th anniversary. I am so there for the snorkeling and hopefully Scuba! I just cleaned out my closet again for the 3rd time in the past 3-4 months & I have a big load of clothes leaving this house tomorrow. I have some nice coats I bought last year & never wore, somebody is about to get lucky!

Though I am desperate need of a tummy tuck, my neck is doing great, my arms are okay and my thighs are okay about 1/2 way up... the top 1/2 just needs to stay covered. All in all, I am happy with my skin's progress and have some hopes that only the tummy tuck will be necessary.

I hope everyone is doing well, physically and emotionally. I know this ride we have taken can be difficult for some and you stay in my prayers. Enjoy the gifts God is giving us and see the incredible future we all have now! Isn't it great to be on the LOSERS Bench!

Hey there Michele,

Right there with ya, I'm down 94 lbs and 5 sizes. I'm feeling wonderful, eating has gotten better, I pretty much eat the same thing every day. No complications here. Got about 20 - 30 lbs to go!! So excited about that. Also loving that I'm able to eat fruit again, I missed it. My skin's pretty okay, my arms are a lil flabby, need to start toning up, tummy a lil flabby of course, but I could live with it all. I love buying clothes now. I had to slow down on that, lol. Can't buy too much, I'm not finished losing. My confidence has really gone up and I cannot complain. Hope everyone's well!
