Okay, I am sure this has been postd a hundred times over but I'm going to ask anyways. How fast were you blowing through sizes? Once I started to shrink I'm averageing about a new pant size every 3 weeks. This makes it very difficult to but new because you only wear something about 5-6 times and then they no longer fit. I don't seem to be losing alot of poundage but I am sure the inches keep recalculating. Sz 12's today zip and button but not nicely, my goal for Valentines day is to see them fit great for a carribean cruise with the family. Here is to hopeful thinking.

Oh geez Donny get rid of them already LOL. I have garbage bags full of clothes and now its time to go back through the closets again. I did pass some off to my mom and Cassie sent me some of her clothes. I returned the favor and brought her some back when I went to KY. LOL pass the clothes.

I was in 22's when I had the surgery on 10/31 and I have pasted the 20's and dropped into 18's and some 16's. From 3X shirts into 1X shirts.

I have given some clothes to my daugther, and I have a couple of big garbage bags sitting in my front hall ... I am scared to get rid of them

It's a little scary how fast of a drop it has been. Veteran WLS patients were not joking when they said this part of the journey was a hell of a ride.

I'm only 3 weeks post-op, but this thread inspired me to go try on some clothes

I haven't dropped any sizes yet -- still wearing 52" pants and 4x shirts, but clothes that I had that kinda-sorta fit but weren't really comfortable (ie: pants where the calves/knees were too tight, shirts where the shoulders or belly were a bit snug) are suddenly comfortable.

I kinda classify my clothes based on where I was in life when I was wearing them... I'm not quite in the clothes that I wore when I started my job 5 years ago when I was wearing 46/48" pants and 3x shirts, but I feel like it's almost in striking distance. tried on a pair of 46" pants tonight and it was funny -- they were roomy everywhere except directly on the waist, which tends to be the opposite of how my pants usually are (when I buy pants for my real waist size, they usually end up being tight in the tighs or calves, so I end up buying a size or two up and belting it)

Hi, I am new here, but whenever I go up or down and have lots of clothes that no longer fit, I sell them on ebay. It's great for getting rid of things you have only worn a few times and it gives you a little extra $$$ for new things. It's really easy to do it, I taught myself and have had no trouble. Just a thought.

I have to buy new clothes every 3 weeks or so and I wear them until I look ridiculous--I buy only what I need and no more. I give them to my relatives as I grow out of them--it took me days originally to go through my closets and drawers--now everything is empty but every couple weeks I weed out what doesn't fit or I wear it so I don't have to go shopping again. I had to take clothes back that my husband bought the day after Thanksgiving for Christmas--he bought them a size smaller than I was then and they were too big by Christmas.

Right now I have enough clothes and look nice because everything fits for a change--I even broke down and bought a couple of new bra's recently--4 sizes smaller than the last ones I bought--LOL-it was time!

I started out in May in 24-26's.
My expensive 24-26's - shipped them to my sister-in-law in Oregon.
The clothes in good condition, but not real expensive - took to a consignment store for 14-plus.
The rest - Goodwill.

I get my bras at Wal-Mart now went from 44DD to a 38D. If it weren't for all the baggy skin in my armpits, I could probably wear a 36C.

Then, the 22's and 20's and 18's I sold at the consignment store for the most part. (That was where I got most of them in the first place). Some I took to Goodwill.

I buy new bras because I like a particular one. I also altered my favorite pants and skirts and dresses - then when the back pockets started coming together, I got rid of them.

I don't buy much new - hardly ever. I love consignment stores and the Goodwills around here. It's like a year-round garage sale!

I think I change sizes about every 4-5 weeks. Usually I try to take clothes in because I want to wear them some more.

Love,

Rose

I would have to agree that about every 3 weeks is a good estimate. I had huge shopping bags full of clothes every time I would go down a size. I would not buy a ton at each stage but it was at least necessary to get a pair of jeans and possibly a new shirt or two each step. I also needed pajamas relatively soon. Scrubs for work were my main priority. But yeah, I started out wearing 22s and 24s back in March and am now between a 6 and 8. I am more around the 8s (and am glad I kept a few 10s) due to pregnancy growing but I hope to see some more 6s after baby arrives.

I sold probably 12 bags of clothes in a yard sale.

Gave away another 8 bags of clothes to friends.

And just took 24 bags of clothes to the goodwill store.

No need to hang on to them I will never go back there. I did save one pair of my size 24's though.
