I am with you on the pajama's thing--I am sitting here in a 3x flannel pj's--I just roll at the waist and sleeves--I did get new ones for Christmas but these are superwarm--LOL--but I do look ridiculous!

The clothes thing is soooo expensive. Luckily (I guess) over the last few years I had gone up and down many sizes. So I went through everything I owned after I first had surgery and put it in boxes by size. When I got too small for a size I would get out another box. This worked for a couple of months but now it doesn't. I had a free garage sale at my house for some girls I knew who desperately wanted new clothes but could not afford them. They left with shopping bags full of clothes! It was fun to see it go and to someone who wanted them. Since surgery in June I have gone from a size 20 to a size 4!!!! I have found that shopping clearance is the best bet. I also have discovered that I can fit into some children's stuff. This has saved me money buying PJ's. I got long john's in the kids department at Target on clearance for 5 bucks. Can't do much better than that! It is the pits to spend sooo much on clothes but on the flip side boy is it fun to go into the store and have lots of choices now and not have to buy something just because it fits!!!

I also drop about a size per month. I started out at a 24. This last week when I was trying on clothes, some 8's fit.

I, too, have enjoyed shopping for new stuff, but it DOES get expensive. I will purchase black pants and jeans at each size, but that's about it. Shirts I can usually squeeze a couple of months of wear out of, but I still don't buy many.

I've tried to get shirts that are versatile, so I can layer different things to look different.

I've tried buying stuff at Goodwill, and I've had good luck with some things from there. As far as new stuff, JC Penny's has been a godsend for me.

I understand where everyone is coming from. I had surgery three weeks ago, and my pants that i wore before surgery size 48 and up no longer fit. I started two weeks ago buying clothes at thrift stores and Goodwill. I bought clothes all the way from XXL to Med and pants from 44-36. I feel that now i can relax and just continue to shop at these stores. I lean towards the thrift store because they are alot cheaper than Goodwill.

Default clothes

We have a Plato's closet near my house. this is a store that sells used designed clothes. My son got his hollister jeans there this weekend for ten bucks. They are always in great shape. I plan on buying my clothes there on the way down - looking forward to needing new clothes.

BTW, I have one sister in particular who is very negitive about WLS, so I am going to give her my old clothes that are too big, just to aggrivate her that they dont fit me anymore!!!!

LOL--that is great--I only told my sister not my brothers because I don't think they would approve or would mock me--they would not think it was malicious mocking anyway I hope to get a few chuckles that day! Normally I don't go for that type of stuff but sometimes KARMA needs a helping hand!

My weight loss is VERY low and slow....

I'm still wearing ALL the same clothes as I was BEFORE I had my weight loss surgery on October 7.....

I had originally planned on getting rid of all my 'fat' summer (pre-surgery clothes) but now I'm not so sure that I won't be still wearing them so I put them away for this coming summer.

Very discouraging considering that I don't cheat/graze, etc....

Do not fret about you loss being slow at the beginning. During my first 2 and a half months I thought the same thing! I actually lost too much the first few days, passed out, got dehydrated, developed a potassium deficiency and was made to gain weight before I left the hospital. Talk about slow loss after that!!! The doc said it would take me a long time to recover from that and it did!! But then guess what something happens and the weight just goes!!!! My weight loss has been more in months 3 on than it was in the first few months!! Now the doc says I am losing too much too fast! So don't be discouraged some people lose fast the first couple months and then it slows others are like me. Each of us is different!! Your clothes will change really fast so be prepared and think positive!!!!
