Update...
Okay, so as most of you know, I'm still in the waiting game. I was told I needed 6 months with my new PCP before I could be submitted for the referal. My 6th month appointment will be August 1st. I guess if I have to wait I will. I was just so banking on getting this done before my boys go back to school. My sister can come down and help me if I can get it done this summer too. I suppose if everything fell into place just right, theoretically I could have it done by the end of August. I'm not banking on that though. I've seen to many people run into problems at the last minute. A friend of mine told me the other day that I should call my insurance and ask them myself about needing 6 months with the PCP before getting the referal. What do you guys think? That won't like set off red flares or something if I were to call and ask would it? I don't want to get impatient and screw things up for myself. But I really need to get things done this summer. I already have all of my tests done, except an EKG, and my Well Woman (thanks again Angela). By the way girls, I'm going to be in town next Wednesday the 29th I think it is, for the Nutrition Class. If anyone wants to join me. I'm going to try and bring my father, so he has a little idea of what's going on. Plus if anyone wants to get together that day for lunch, let me know. I think I'll be in twon a couple days, going to take my rugrats to Sea World. God Bless Year Passes! SO anyway, that's my update! Love you all bunches!

I personally would wait the 6 months, but then again I was one of the one's that ran into snags at the end of it all. Maybe you can talk your Doctor into submitting it the end of July. That way it will all get started a little earlier. I hope that she will. Oh yeah you can do an EKG at the doc office. It takes like 5 minutes. The longest part is getting everything hooked up to you.
Good luck. Keep us posted.

Yo Yo Yo
Be patient my little flower... good things come to those who wait. You have THE bomb-a$$ PCP from what I hear... you are in great hands. Just kick back and relax... perhaps if you see her in July you can ask her to start the referral... that will be month 5, going on 6 and I dont see what they couldnt at that time...... just a thought!
Love your face!

Or you could call the insurance and ask anonomously (sp) what the requirements are. They don't have to know your name. But, you are almost there. Yea!!!

She didn't. I just needed a six month history with her. No diet. She may flub a little on my chart, but she never issued a medically supervised diet for me. Although I am supposed to have lost 10 pounds by my next apoointment... two weeks away hey will water pills work? And what the heck is the actual name of them? She told me to lose weight and I came home and went to Dairy Queen!

Lasix is a prescribed water pill and I think there are some diuretics over the counter. Water pills never worked for me, but it is worth a try. I don't know. I resorted to laxativs and nearly killed myself in dehydration...could've given myself a heart attack. I know it was so hard for me to lose weight when it was required..it was frustrating and my body would do the opposite of what I wanted it to do...like it knew I HAD to have the weight off, so it held everything I ate.
Hand in there...my sister had to do the 6 month thing and she is now scheduled for August 1st and she says the time just flew by.

Sounds so familiar!!
I would say that the 6 months is so that the doc can really get to know if you really are a candidate.
I was with my pcp for 5 years trying any and everything. She documented all my attempts and also repaired me as I was systematically breaking down due to my weight. needless to say my consult---refferral----and final aproval went quick and smoothly.
