Default Smoking

Hello,
I quit smoking on June 1st so that I could be 2 months smoke free by my surgery date. Well, my surgery is set for Aug 2nd but I have had a few puffs since June 1st. Does anyone know if they will make me re-schedule? Does anyone know how the smoke test works?

Hi, whatever you do make sure you're honest with Kelly. She had mentioned at a meeting that they lost a patient during surgery because she was "secretly" smoking. I don't remember the details, just make sure you let them know.I'm don't want to scare you...just want to make sure that you're safe during surgery

Default Smoking??

Hello. I too was a smoker until Kelly told me to quit. I quit on March 6th and was smoke free for three months (surgery was 6/2). All I know is they'll do a nicotine blood test and if the nicotine levels are too high they will probably have to reschedule. Unfortunately, I started smoking again...but plan to quit again REAL soon!
