I am getting my protein in through the protein drinks.... I stopped making them with milk because all of a sudden, milk and I just didn't get along!
I haven't lost total interest in food...I still cook meals for my brother...and my son when he drops by...and I've started baking christmas cookies. I just don't want to eat any of it...I enjoy the way it smells...
As long as it's normal..... that's all I was worried about!!!
And I know that in a couple of months I will probably have the exact OPPOSITE problem and be crazy with hunger!!!!!!

I remember saying I HATED food. And by and large, I have had an easier time maintaining and continuing to lose weight than many. I mean, here I am over two years out and still losing slowly, so this may be to your benefit. Spending a few months where food is fuel is a good thing. Wrap you head around it. Think of it as the chore it is - think of all the other things you'd rather be doing. Do get in the fluids and do get in the protein shakes, but this is the time to re-teach your brain about food. Your relationship with food can become a healthy one if you really embrace this time.
Good luck and keep going!

Greetings Gina,
I am definitely working on changing the 'wiring' in my brain to regard food as something I 'need' to live.... not 'live' to need.
This is indeed my golden opportunity to set in place the healthy habits that are to be part of my new life! No way am I going back to the habits and mindset that got me to the unhealthy weight I was.

I went through the same thing. Its all good.
Its a good feeling to have to eat to live instead of living to eat!

Hi Michelle!
I don't have as much disinterest in food as you do but, I don't care that much whether I eat or not... if I'm not hungry. I didn't have much hunger after surgery until the last week when I had the attack of the ugly, premenopausal hormones. Even then, it takes very little to feel me up. I've had some trouble here and there with food feeling stuck and that really takes the fun out of eating for me! I view all food suspiciously now.
I say, enjoy this period, as long as you're meeting your protein, vitamin, and water needs. I'm sure it will change down the road!

Greetings Linda,
I've had the occasional bout of pissy-pouch, which probably hasn't helped...
It's just odd because a couple of weeks ago, even though I couldn't eat much, I was 'hungry'.
I am definitely 'enjoying' it while it lasts....!!!!

Excellent points and tips. I need to get a mantra going while my brain is wired this way: "Eat to live".
Our bodies are so damned efficient when it comes to fuel... why can't my car be this fuel efficient?

Snowbelle~
Hey girlie..wow i forgot u had your rny recently..I havent really been checking the forums like i should. Been super busy and I have about 3 weeks until RNY. So Im sorry about your hunger issue, but honestly Im like that now girl..I rarely wanna eat im kind of afraid that I'll be one of those to lose too much weight. My addiction right now isnt food its sweets, so thats what this is supposed to cure for me hopefully then I'll be freeflowing and good to go. Well I honestly dont know whether its a good thing or not to miss the meals or not but I would think as long as u are getting all of your protein in you should be fine...but of course Im not post op so im of little help. I hope all goes well...Take care

Making sugar/fat free no cook Jello pudding with ff milk and adding a scoop of matching protein powder was a good standby for me too. I just scooped out a spoon or two every time I went passed the fridge.
You didnt have any issues with milk my Dr. doesnt want me to have any milk what so ever and he wants me to finish my protein within 20 minutes of mixing because it loses protein.
