I am five month post op and have been loosing/thinning hair for a month or more now. Being a blonde, I started with a lot of hair. Each morning, I pull out approx. 4mm wide of hair in the shower, then thats it. I switched shampoos to Pureology, thinking the more expensive shampoo will treat my hair during this stressful time. I dont know if its working, but my hair feels healthier. Anyway, when I went to the salon shop to find the best shampoo, the saleslady felt my hair, not knowing why I was there or my background. Her first comment was that I had alot of hair! I was blown away!

I'm going to try the Pureology and I take Biotin. Hopefully, it'll help. I'm too early on to see anything, but I figure I'll start now!

Hairloss would be soo depressing, but I just have to keep telling myself it's worth it and temporary!

I experienced quite a bit of hair loss, but since I had a full and bushy head of hair it didn't make a super noticable difference in the way my hair looked. I didn't take supplements or use special hair. It eventually stops and my hair is just as bushy and unmanageable as it was pre-surgery.

I dont think the pureology products make my hair NOT fall out, but I sure feel better using a better product. I am still loosing hair, but not as much. Hopefully I am slowing down. I had cut my hair to my shoulders at 3 months post op and with it short, my teenagers now say I look like a cancer patient! My hair is very thin, about a thumb size of thickness. Before, it would say it was three fingers thick and heavy. But, as long as it comes back, I'll deal with it. I am also thinking of stopping coloring it, come on gray!!!! maybe?!

Down to 175 lbs at 6 months post op. WOW! Down to size 14 and I am tired of buying a size, thinking I could never get smaller, and then I do. I almost think I look too thin!

I started taking biotin a few weeks ago, before my surgery on the 31st. I'm hoping it helps.

Default Protein, Zinc, and Biotin here.

Hi ladies... losing my hair was my biggest fear also. I had already started looking at wigs after my first seminar, knowing that I would be losing hair. A couple of months before this I had started taking Biotin, not for my hair but for my nails. It was probably the best move I made. I am 8 months post-op, but have been taking 5000 mcg of Biotin every day for 14 months. I haven't loss any hair, no thinning at all, and I color my hair at least twice a month because the gray grows out so fast. I do make sure I get at least 70g of protein a day and I have been taking 50g of Zinc each day since my surgery. I read once on here in someone's post that Zinc was good to help absorb the Biotin, so I started taking it. Anyway, that is my regime and I haven't lost any hair. Hope this helps someone. I buy both at Wal-Mart, very cheap.

I've been taking 5000 MCG of Biotin daily, along with Zinc for over a month.

I haven't had any hair loss yet but I'm planning on starting on Rogaine in the next week or two to head off as much of the hair loss as I can.

I figure with my luck, my weight loss will continue to be low and slow but ALL my hair will fall out!!!!
