3 months out of surgery.. PREGANCY QUESTION
My husband will have been deployed for 15months bless his heart, but we are having issues. He will be home in 20ish days
Im allergic to Birthcontrol, and hate the idea of IUD, iv heard nothing but horrible things, and they dont offer the cervical cap here in germany. So im pretty much screwed on this one.
Then to top all of this off.. My lovely hubby of mine is Allergic to Latex.
WHAT AM I TO DO......
Iv lost a total of 46lbs so far. but that really is not alot. At least not i my book for but being 3 months out i guess its not bad really.
But what will happen if i get pregnant. Im trying to find another type of condom but not being able to read german, or anything buying them on the economy kinda bites.
Im scared out of my mind. We have been wanting another child since we had out daughter 6 years ago. But my weight was always an issue. Now... well i still want to get pregnant but.. im worried. My doc is no help at all. he thinks i should just tie my tubes and be done. Im 25. Hello....
Anyone with advice please let me know.
Am i crazy to just say screw it leave it up to fate. if i get pregnant enjoy the blessing..... HELP......

Hello Keyra!
And welcome to TTF!
Would you be able to buy cervical caps (diaphragm) online or go to Switzerland to get a fitting appointment with a gyneacologist? Sounds stupid, but it might be worth your trying an allergy research clinic to tell them of your husband's predicament. I'm sure you would be able to find an American doctor in Germany - ask the embassy for a referral list.
Best wishes and let us know how you are getting on.
Cheers,
Vim in the UK

Do you have anyone in the US that can see if they can find no latex comdoms. Try even foam or something. I know there have been women on here that have had babies early out, and everything has been fine, but they never lost the weight they wanted to. I would say do everything in you power not to get pregnant just yet. I'm 4 yrs out and pregnant and have "issues" with eating. I can't tell you how many time's I have been asked if I'm eating.

Maybe you can get inplanon or birth control injections. Inplanon last 3 years but is hard to find doctors who do the procedure because it is rather new in US. Deprovera shot last 3 months. You should make an appointment asap so that you dont end up with a lot more to worry about.

i have never heard of someone being "allergic" to all forms of birthcontrol. The DEPOPrevara is great (shot every 3 months) and the mirena iud is only 1 inch and thats very easy to do i would do one of those

Keyra, sorry to steal your thread here but since everyone is talking about BC...KC, I see that you have the Mirena? I too got mine inserted about 2 or so weeks ago. Does the spotting ever stop? No side effects with you?

Hi Keyra,
First, welcome to TT! Second, where are you stationed?
You should be able to get some latex free condoms from you TMC (health clinic on post) they should offer them...if I'm not mistaken. Hell my TMC has tubs of free condoms sitting out everywhere in there...lol but I think they're all latex condoms...but you can ask the pharmacy and they prolly have some latex-free ones in there stash back there.
Also, if you're not too far from Mannheim, BFV, you should come to our WLS support group meetings on the 15th of each month. PM me and we can get together or something. Congrats on the weight loss! Which doc did your surgery? Weiner or Shang? I know I know...this is a lot of questions...sorry...
back to the subject....
Jet suggested the website to order latex-free condoms and you should be able to get them from your TMC/pharmacy/doc. If you were referring to your PCP about him telling you to get your tubes tied then you need to find another doctor. What a jackass.
TTYL! SMOOCH!

I have the IUD since surgery and I have SEVERE periods now. The pain is so bad sometimes that I feel like I'm gonna die. I have also noticed that it's not as comfortable during sex either. It is sometimes actually painful, as if something is hitting the IUD. I think my cervix is probably just very tender, but it's NOT a good feeling sometimes. I don't feel that this is normal. I need to go back for a checkup appointment to see why it feels this way and why I am having this severely painful periods. I was under the impression that they may stop all together or just have two or three a year. Not my case.... But it is nice to not have to worry about pregnancy. Just remember that you will be more fertile now that you are dropping so much weight. This somehow boosts the chances for getting pregnant, so if you don't want a baby, you better do something.
