1 yr. anniversary & Baby Announcement
Hello All,
Today I celebrate my 1 yr. anniversary. I'm also celebrating the birth of my 11 day old newborn. Allison Walker was born on June 19, 2004 at 12:10 pm. She weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces. I had a natural delivery with no complications. She's healthy and doing great. I'm also doing wonderful We have waited 16 years for this baby. My pregnancy was uneventful. No morning sickness, and the delivery was not bad at all.
I contribute this blessing to weight loss surgery. Without loosing the weight, I would have never conceived. My health has drastically improved. Although I became pregnant just 3 months out from surgery, I still managed to loose a total of 120 pounds. My life is so good. I'm on cloud nine. I cannot believe the year has gone so quickly.
My pregnancy was not planned and I advise women to wait the recommended time period. Although I had a tremendous pregnancy and managed to have a healthy baby girl. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary besides take prenatal vitamins and extra calcium and iron. My OBGYN said that I was a poster child for post op pregnant women. I only gained about 10 pounds throughout the pregnancy.
I started this journey 1 year ago weighing 294 pounds. I was very miserable, unhealthy, and didn't know were to turn. I thank God for Dr. Callery and his staff for giving me the opportunity to live. I also thank God for my baby and my new way of life. Today as I stand in the mirror, I cannot believe the person I see. I now weigh 175 pounds. I'm only 15 pounds from my goal weight. When I look into my baby girls eyes I realize that I will be able to chase her around, play with her, and raise her with healthy eating habits. None of this would have been possible without surgery.
So, in closing, I'd also like to thank the many people on the board who have supported me throughout this journey and I look forward to the next year of my new life!

That is WONDERFUL! I am very happy for you. Enjoy the time you will have with your baby girl. If you ever need a babysitter, let me know. Mine are all grown up and I love babies (as long as I can give them back when I am done). Congratulations.

Congratulations!
How wonderful!! What a double blessing you have received. You must be walking on air. I would be thrilled with the weight loss, I'll leave the babies to my daughters-in-law! God bless.

Congrats!!!
Hi Tina,
I want to thank you for posting your message. I am 33 and have been dealing with my weight for so long. I am not married, not seeing anyone and have no kids. I so want kids and that made me look into this surgery about a year ago. Well, I am having it on Aug 2nd and desperatly hope that my life turns out that way I always dreamed it would (kids & husband). You are an inspiration. And it is so good to hear 1st hand that you can not only get pregnant after the surgery but that you can have a good pregnancy and a healthy baby. Thanks Again!!!!!!!!!
