I haven't check in here in awhile. I stayed away from the forum because I found it just very depressing and discouraging (my own "head" problems, nothing anyone here said to me). I felt like everyone was losing faster than me (they pretty much are). I basically went into a stall in December that I stayed in for FIVE months, then I lost a few more pounds and I'm stalled again. I've lost just about 80 in a little over a year (some was lost pre-op as well). I expected to be closer to goal (which is probably 150) by now.
As far as food goes, I get the shakes, nausea, etc., if I eat sugar and sometimes too many carbs (it's a little unpredictable). I don't eat fried food. I was eating about 1500 cal and day and have now cut down to about 1200, trying to lose. It's tough to eat that little, I get just as hungry as I did before surgery, I just get filled up on less.
I had my 1 year appt. in late May and the PA didn't come right out and say I should have lost more, but I could see it in her eyes and when I asked. 80 in one year just isn't that great (especially at the weight I started at), IMO.
I'm in size 14 pants. The hanging belly fat is an issue. One good thing, my hair has grown back (I lost about 1/3 of it and got it cut short at the 6 month mark). I think it's almost as thick as it was before. I still haven't thrown up once since surgery, I think I'm an anomaly there. I sometimes wish I was more food sensitive.
Anyway, that's my story. I'm glad to hear others are doing so well.
