Are Rice Noodles Bad? Is There A Rice Replacement? I.e Wild Rice, Brown Rice? And Last What Is An Ideal Amount Of Carbs Per Meal?? All Your Help Is Appreciated..thx

As you progress farther on this journey you will be able to start using healthier alternatives to things like rice, pasta, etc. I'm at my goal weight and yes, I do eat brown rice, wild rice, whole wheat pasta but there was no way I would have had those early out. Actually I couldn't even tolerate them until I was more like year postop. Even now at 2 years postop I have a hard time with rice, bread, pasta. I can do it in small amounts but anything more fills me up really quick.
The general rule is really to limit your carb intake early out. Most people will find that carbs will trigger something in them and it causes them to crave the carbs even more. It's a dangerous rollercoaster to put yourself on. Also things like pasta, rice, breads...they will swell in your pouch and there won't be any room for the protein you need. You need to remember that it is protein first then if there is any room at all you can add in some vegetables, if you STILL have room (which you probably won't) then a few bites of healthy carbs or a little fruit. For myself I usually opt for the fruit in place of the carbs but that is me.
Hope that helps.

your never really going to eat much at a time for a while. That is why it is so important to eat the protien first. I think if you ate your protien and there is some rice on the table try it. I do with no problem. I get full after one bite though. The one thing I can not tolerate at all is bread. I can not have toast, sandwich, pizza, rolls nothing and it sucks. But I am down 55 pounds in 3 months and it is all worth it. Good luck and your pouch will tell you what you can eat. Kathy

Substitutions
I use spaghetti squash instead of noodles, and I mash cauliflower inplace of mashed potatoes. Does any of that appeal to ya?

It is my personal opinion that you are way too early to be thinking of this. As I have said in previous posts...detox from carbs and when you are further out, add in bits. There is no way you will get the protein in that you need in food if you are eating carbs at meals. The goal is to not drink your protein and eat carbs at meals.
I used to have a carb at every meal and the starchy ones at dinner pre op...No more. You need to change the way you think and down the road, moderation can come into play. But you need to learn that first by not having them and eating protein and veggies at this stage.
When you are ready to add them back in here is what I use
1. Flat out wraps the lowest carb and highest protein and fiber wrap out there
2. Pearled Barley...lowest glycemic index carb. I boil for 10 min, add dried lentils and boil for 10-12 more minutes and put a sauce that I make over it or mix with sauted onion carrots and mushrooms to make sort of a fried rice.
3. French string beans instead of pasta
4. Bake with whole wheat flour and splenda
5. Pasta sauce. ...jar of roasted red peppers (no liquid), sauted onion and portobello mushroom, minced garlic.....put in blender/magic bullet. Add small amount of either favorite low sugar spaghetti sauce or can of diced tomato's, salt and pepper to taste. Mix in blender and use over any "italian style" dish.

well as far as being to early out to be thinking about that stuff..hey im thinking about a lot worse than that lol...what i meant by alternatives are things that arent loaded in carbohydrates..like spaghetti squash..thx thats a good idea...i am looking for like maybe things i could lightly coat some fish or something with in place of flour or breading? also spaghetti sauce, is it better to make your own, meaning less sugar? if you use fresh tomatoes and veggies? im very aware carbs and sugars are bad i am just looking for some healthy alternatives?? thx

I make everything from scratch. I hate processed foods -- frankly, I think they are one of the major reasons I gained the weight I did.
There are many healthy and easy recipes for marinara sauce, soups, etc. To figure the nutrients per serving in a recipe, I use the following Web site: Recipe Calculator. Today, for example, I am making gazpacho. There is nothing in the recipe that would be problematic (it's all fresh vegetables). However, with a lower-protein soup like gazpacho, I make sure to get my protein in at a different meal using a shake or whatever. The gazpacho is rich in other vitamins.
I always make large batches and freeze in individual portions (I buy portion cups at a restaurant supply house). That way it's easy to grab something that is healthy and nutritious without resorting to commercial, chemical-laden stuff.

Indian Food - Thai Food - Vegetarian Food - Vegan Food - Kosher Food - Gluten Free Food - MRE
The above website has a huge amount of packaged items that can be put over food, served as a side, or put on brown rice or barley.
The ones I found that are lowest in calories, fat and high in protein are Bombay potato and madras lentils. Jahodapur lentils are also good.

My new favorite to replace rice is "quinoa". It's sort of like wild rice, but it is very high in protein. I use it to make stuffed peppers or pilaf.
====
If you make your own sauce you can always control what's in it. The few times I've bought ready-made sauce in the last year, well, the time spent looking for a sauce made w/o added sugar or oil could have been spent making a perfectly good sauce from "kitchen ready" or "pureed" tomatoes. My sauce is also waaaaaaaay tastier than store-bought too. Check out the recipe section here, there are some excellent recipes!
