I get worried if a serving has more than 5 or 6 grams of sugar per serving. I also get nervous if something has more than 20 or so total carbs per serving, but I have eaten some Lean Cuisines that were around 30-35 and been okay, but the overall sugars were still low.

I am not a firm believer in the natural sugars and being able to go to 12 grams per serving. I ate 1/3 of a banana and dumped like crazy. So I am totally avoiding the natural sugars. They are the devil.

Sugar doesn't bother me and could eat a candy bar if I wanted it! UGH But DON'T! I do get the fast heart rate sometimes or a rush of feeling light headed with some carbs, but very seldom. I never know what will do it either. I just take a few deep breaths and let the hot flash and heart beating fast go away and then I am fine. The only thing that has had me in a ball before was orange juice! I will NEVER drink that again. I would have been in the ER if I would have known there was something they could have done for the excruiating pain in my abdomen. I cried and rolled all over my bed in a ball for bout an hour, then fell asleep. So, you never know until you try, so I wouldn't suggest pushing it unless you are in for some pain. I remember shortly out from surgery that I dumped on a tablespoon of mashed potatoes! It was crazy.
