Good tool!
What a great way to illustrate the many benefits of WLS!!! Way to go on this one!
So far I've gotten rid of my high blood pressure and am looking forward to losing the sleep apnea!

Wow, I look at that and I see a few of my co-morbidities and physical ailments have improved...... still have a few to go, though.
Thanks for printing that visual aid, very cool!

This is terrific! While I didn't have any comorbidities before surgery, I did have achy knees, hips, ankles, and back. All of the aches have completely disappeared, and I'm only 15 days out. PLUS, I sleep soundly through the night, and I don't ever feel tired mid-afternoon like I used to. Amazing!
Thank God for this surgery!

I thought the information was very helpful. Thank you so much for posting this. I am going to show my co-workers this as they as they are nursing instructors & they might eventually bring this into conversation.

only 1 in 100 have surgery
I Just read in the ASMBS press release that only 1 percent of people who are qualified candidates for surgery actually get surgery.
WHY?
I know it is a lot of money, but it is quite obvious that the surgery will pay for itself. Every fat person knows that slim people make more money than fat people.
Are people afraid of surgery? Do they not understand the health benefits? Do they not trust group such as ASMBS? Fear of surgery is not preventing people from getting nose jobs and boob jobs....and there are no health benefits to these surgeries.
What about other physicals that could be referring patients and driving the agenda. If the benefits are so clear why aren't more physicals fighting to have easier access to Bariatric Surgery? Don't they trust special interest groups like the ASMBS.
What about insurance companies? If the benefits are so clear... it would bring down costs drastically if every one of their obese policy holders had surgery? If the insurance companies found a way to save money they would be lobbying hard and strong for more surgery.
To summarize
The public has not yet got behind surgery in any way that suggests they understand the huge benefits.
Doctors have not gotten behind the surgery in any real way.
Insurance companies are not pushing their clients towards surgery.
WHY?
